I hear conflicting interpretations on my synastry/composite charts. I am getting obsessed....freaked out about transits that aren't happening for like another decade, constantly analyzing our charts (please tell me I'm not the only crazy one around here!)How much weight do you personally put into astrology? Good question. I'm interested in the answers given to this question. I asked a similar question on the beginner's board and I wonder sometimes if interpretations can be "overridden". I don't know... Can't wait to read the responses.IP: Logged |

It heavily depends. A lot of people interpreted a certain synastry I posted. They actually said it was terrible when in reality, that person and I clicked well. Same goes for horary. I have plenty of examples regarding "outcomes" that were supposed to happen but never happened. Situations that weren't exactly as described by the interpreter. Truthfully, the more I go, the more I realize astrology might only be a whole bunch of blah blah, especially when it comes to synastry/horary charts. Their interpretation is so complex, you can't define the duration/outcome of an encounter based on a chart. Sometimes you have to trust your instinct and drop all astrology considerations. It's not to say interpreters/astrologers/readers are not talented people, they sure are but there are certain things that need to be looked at from an emotional/intellectual point of view. You can't let astrology dictate your life. You have to detach yourself from it, otherwise it will drive you crazy and you'll end up frustrated.

I refuse to derail this thread lol; but I appreciate you saying this. I definitely think that after posting some of my composite and synastry charts in here, I have become abit disheartened about particular relationships. However, in my heart, I know what I want to manifest etc. timing just is abit off. I really appreciate you saying this though. It's refreshing to hear. I guess, as human beings, we want certainty in uncertainty and astrology can be a blessing and a curse. It can also produce things that we want to hear or much rather not hear, I guess it depends on what you get. It just good to have a virtual slap now and again - You've given me one! IP: Logged |

I agree with you. My natal chart does describe me, but when I read interpretations of my partners chart only some of it fits. The charts also don't account for experience and personal growth. I really need to start detaching because I'm freaking myself out. IP: Logged |

I've been on this site for years and never once has anyone said good things about my synastries. One rship was over 20 yrs and one was seven years. It's all a matter of perspective if you ask me. IP: Logged |

I can't do more than agree with what has already been said here. I started getting more into astrology to learn about myself and where my path/potential my lies, to see where my stumbling blocks are, etc. Not to predict future events or if a relationship is "good" or not. I see it as a way to understand why you or someone else may act in a certain way and how to deal with it. And like others, I've had people tell me my synastry with my x husband was not great, it shows lots of conflict, etc. when the reality is we had a wonderful 14 year marriage and we rarely fought. Just because something ends doesn't mean it wasn't good while it lasted. My current synastry was also described as "just friends with no sparks" when in reality we can't keep out hands off each other when we are together. Live your life not your charts. IP: Logged |

Some of it you cannot take too seriously.I think if you believe something bad will happen, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I believe in the character trait thing more than the future predictions. Also I had an MRI scan last week and I had to remove all metal objects and sign a safety questionnaire. The magnetic field of the MRI scanner was far stronger than that of Saturn passing through an area of my chart millions of miles away for example. See it as guidance rather than gospel. IP: Logged |
