So.

I had just broken up with a longterm boyfriend. I was living in Oregon with him but desperately wanted to leave him. I had an overwhelming feeling to go back to my home state, Kansas. I didnt have to, I didnt need to, I just felt a calling. So I left.

Exactly a month after getting back home, I decided to go out to a bar with a couple friends. Hooking up with someone was the LAST thing on my mind. So, I did my makeup all goth/black thinking surely no guy at this country bar would approach a goth chick. Yeah, that was my defense LOL

Before I ordered my drink, I was at the jukebox playing a bunch of heavy metal to **** off the country boys and enjoy myself. I turned to go to my table but there was this guy just standing there, staring at me, blocking my path. He awkwardly said, "I like your taste in music."...I said thanks, and he offered to give me more money to play more songs. We chose a few together, invited him to sit with my friends and I, and he did. We all made brief conversation and he got up and went back to his group of friends.

I didnt think much of him that night. He was three sheets to the wind but cute and had a good, calm, nice energy about him. Like i said, I wasnt planning on getting with anyone anytime soon so I just had fun with my friends and left the bar.

Well, a couple days later that guy from the bar kept popping into my head. All I knew was his first name, Ricky..that he was in town temporarily working on the refinery, and he was from Texas. I couldnt stop thinking that I should have talked to him more. So I did what i do best and tried to stalk him on Facebook. You know how many Rickys there are in Texas? A LOT. I couldnt find him so I gave up.

A few nights later, I had a dream about him. In the dream, I was at McDonalds and he was my "waiter". I was with the two friends with whom I had gone to the bar and they were encouraging me to give Ricky my number. So I wrote it on a receipt and gave it to him.

Fast forward a month, I started working as a security officer at the refinery. One day, Ricky popped into my head and I remembered he worked out there. I got on the employee database and typed in the name "Ricky". 108 results popped up, so I clicked through every single one until I saw a picture vaguely resembling him. It said he had TX license plates and it showed his last name..so then I resumed the Facebook stalking. Voila. FOUND HIM. The profile info that I could see said that he had a past work history at MCDONALDS. I thought that was weird considering he was now an Ironworker. But, I remembered my dream about meeting him at McDonalds so I felt it was a psychic sign or something. I HAD to message him then!

I sent him a message asking if he remembered me. Later that day he said he kinda did. We added each other and tried arranging a time to go out and have a few drinks. We met up at the bar and played pool..and I could NOT stop smiling.

I swear I have never been so smitten and cheesy over a guy until then. I found him wildly attractive, mysterious, comforting, like I had known him before but that was impossible.

At the end of the night, he offered to take me home but first I had to swing by the ATM. He dropped me off at my house and said he wanted to give me his number. He took my receipt from the ATM and wrote his number on it. Remember the receipt with the phone number from my dream? Yeah..WEIRD, right??

Because of the dream stuff aligning and coming true, I was hooked. I ended up going to his house to hang a few days later and to my amazement he was renting a house that was significant to my childhood. A house out in the country that belonged to my childhood friends. I had spent time there and always had INTENSE deja vu every time I was there. What were the chances Ricky would be living in THAT house? To make things even crazier..his license plate numbers were MY BIRTHDAY. WHAT?! I was so intrigued.

So, days go by, we spend all our time together in a dreamy haze where time seems to warp around us. We had deep, intense conversations and both felt immensely pulled to each other. We fell in love fast and hard. It is a love unlike either of us have ever known. It has not been easy, and not always pleasant, but it feels karmic. It must be. Why else would the weird coincedences and the dream happen?

Why was I so compelled to come back to Kansas at that time? Why was he still there? As a travelling construction worker, his jobs rarely last more than a couple months but he said he felt like staying in Kansas longer, even after being offered a higher paying job back in Texas.

Why was the timing of everything so PERFECTLY lined up for us?

It was supposed to happen. And it did. And it is still happening and it feels ******* insane and amazing.

I hope this gives hope to those searching for their soul mate. Go out, even if you dont want to. Go out and trust your instincts, the little voice in your head, your dreams, listen to it all. Love like this happens once in a lifetime. There are signs in place pointing you to it. <3
