I was reading "Lord of the Rings, return od the king" and in the end there are these apendices. One of them shortly goes trough the stroy of Aragorn and Arwin. It is a beautifull love story, one of the most beautifull I have heard. It was the third bonding between an elf and a human in history. And in the end Aragorn, when he feels that he is getting week, he lays himself down and goes on his own will and when Arwin leaves the housings again, they say she had a gray collor on her and lost light of her eyes. she had to leave immortality behind to be with him! And this is the think. What was so strong that made her leave immortality behind? Passion? in the story god created, elfs with theyr gifts, like wisdom and immortality and humans had also theyr gift.Arwin says that she thought humas were stupid, and made fun out of them. But when she talks to Aragorn when he is lying and welcoming death, she says that now she understands more the gift of the humans and understands that it is a hard way. It is not so easy for me to understand the story. They loved eachother so much, but still Aragorn welcomed death when he feld for it when he was weaker. IP: Logged |

Brings back memories. I watched it when I was around maybe 7-8, I actually mistook Legolas for a chick the whole time, it was only around the last battle that I figured out that Legolas was actually a guy, now that was quite a shock, lol.I don't know the answer but I like this quote from Troy( one of my favorite movies). “ The gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again." - Achilles

I always loved that guy, especially when they first met him and he was just Strider. He was like every girl's dream. Sigh. (as an aside, did you know Robert Planet had a dog he named Strider?) Anyway, I looked up your story and it really was beautiful. Thanks for sharing that. Makes me think of my Scorpio and I just love that<3

I guess I should clarify. What I would give up is not immortality, but my life. I have made a conscious choice to live out this life to its purpose, and then go the natural way to a recharge, homeward bound so to speak. Then on to the next existence. I was thinking in terms of the movie, not real life. IP: Logged |

Sorry guys, I just saw this. Yes, they were very influenced by Tolkien, the lyrics to "Ramble On" in particular spell it out. Why the angel, Randall? Don't despair, things aren't always what they appear to be. You see through more than most though. Not always a pleasure, I'm sure.
