I am so lost right now. I don't hate it where I'm living but I feel this city doesn't motivate me and offers little in regards to my creativity/career. I've done very little photography since we moved here 2 years ago, and I've had a series of horrible job experiences here. I just can't cope with the meaningless & psychic strain of it all anymore. I've already tapped those sources for what they had to offer anyway & it's now a time to use those skills for something of my own. I really need to find a way to bridge my creativity with career. But how?
I miss LA, but feel I must secure myself financially before I go back there... it has too much to offer for me to be expending my energy toiling away at a 9-5.
I have considered going back to Texas for a brief period, to regroup & save some capital.
My family has promised me a small little chunk from an inheretence but it's yet to materialize, and I wonder if it ever will.
Does anyone have any advise, based on my chart, about the best way to proceed right now? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi DominaOriens,

I think it would be okay to ask on the astrology forum if no-one responds here.

Transit Saturn is directly over your MC at the moment. This is probably why you are feeling heavy in the career department. You may feel differently as it passes over. It will take another month before you feel the pressure come off.

tSaturn will begin to square your Mercury nov/dec, so sit tight once again as dilemmas in problem solving could crop up. This description is from http://www.astrology-x-files.com/transits/saturn-op-mercury.html

Transiting Saturn square or opposite your natal Mercury. Here, Saturn has the effect of cooling mental activity and communication in a negative way. You may be stumped and at an impasse with a difficult problem that does not seem to have a good solution. The keyword here is dilemma. In communication, there will tend to be misunderstandings or delays. You may feel isolated. It is as if others are operating at a different speed than you are. Others may not agree with your way of looking at things. You should be careful about looking at things too seriously or narrowly, which could lead to your forgetting the bright side. If you do, you are likely to experience depression and be blindsided by obvious solutions.

Don't get too depressed reading this. It's all in how we choose to work our own lives!!

Thanks so much koiflower! I'm not too depressed over it, it actually makes me feel better to know exactly what I'm working with be it good or bad. Looks like I have a window of time in October where things may be smoother? How long will the Saturn Square Mercury last for me? Just Nov & Dec? Will I be in the clear in Jan?
But, with my Mercury in Gemini & Mercury/Gemini in my 7th house - should I be worried about my relationship?? That does scare me, because I'm afraid my career issues are putting financial strain that will begin to spill over into my relationship. Thanks again for all your help!

tSatrun will be retrograd in Jan!! So it won't be moving out of square from your mercury until mid April...!!! Don't worry, I'll be effected to, as Saturn is lingering over my Venus/Uranus and Pluto at the moment!!!!

Saturn doesn't have to be a bad transit. It can be a time to observe and reflect what is really important. Sometimes Saturn will suddenly prune unnecessary things from our life in an instance.

By the time April comes about you'll probably know exactly what is meant to be in your life and what's not!

I'm not sure how it will effect your 7th H. I'll meditate on that - it probably does have some bearing, but it doesn't necessarily mean your main relationship with your partner will be effected.

wow, at least I'm not alone then, hehe.
But yeah I think that Saturn is pruning things from my life already, and it's happening rapidly & I have no choice in the matter but it's for the best. For example, I'd been working jobs that weren't right for me, for far too long & I knew it, and they had all ended badly. So again this happened recently but this time the aftermath reached emotional crisis mode & I realized that I can't go back into that world of craphole meaningless jobs even if I wanted to force myself. My mental state is far too fragile - like on the brink of a Britney-esque breakdown. I can honestly say that I would rather shave my head & attack random vehicles with an umbrella than work in another freaking office again. Not because I'm too proud, but because I don't belong there. I have to conceal waaaaay to much about myself in order to keep those jobs. In fact, I have to put on a complete facade that over the years has done extreme damage to my self esteem & sense of identity. These jobs just aren't worth the damage they have done to my psyche. So it's as if the universe is making me follow my path, even if I am not really financially prepared to.
Anyway, I wonder if the 7th house stuff could represent my mother? I definitely think the saturn transit of my MC is bringing up issues about her that have been buried... so maybe those will start to come more into focus when Saturn squares my Mercury? Hrmmmm

Hi, when Saturn is transiting thru your 10th house (MC) it is also affecting the opposite house (4th house/IC), which is associated with our home base, mother (or father), childhood upbringing or the environment we were raised in.

The 4th house also corresponds to Cancer, which corresponds to Moon, which is associated with the mother.

Btw, you seem to have creative/artistic inclinations. What do you do?

thanks deuxantares... that makes sense as to why my current work struggles are bringing up stuff about how I wasn't properly prepared for the work world by my mother during my childhood. I'm not playing the blame game, but in my recent acceptance & acknowledgment that I am just not fit for the regular work world I am forced to examine the whys & hows...
But I still am wondering about the 7th house placements (my Mercury in Gemini & Mercury/Gemini in my 7H) & what it all means in regards to Saturn squaring my Mercury soon...

As for my creative inclinations, photography has been my major focus for several years but I haven't shot much in the last 2 years because I moved & my focus switched to family health issues. But I also love to draw & write, especially composing poetry/lyrics (and I secretly love to sing & think I'm pretty good at it, hehe). I wish I could find a way to combine all of my creative pursuits into one package that could at least pay for itself if not support me. That's my dream...

Yes, I agree with deuxantares. Saturn will be effecting the 4th House/IC where it can be associated with your mother. This could be triggering your internalizing over your mother.

There is proabably a need to look at your emotions associated with the deep part of you as Saturn doesn't waste time - so the time has come to think about this aspect of your life.

This is going to be one long transit! Hang in there, steady as she goes. This is a time for growth, a new level of maturity to reach.

This must be quite a crossroad for you with issues about your mother coming up as well as looking honestly at how you feel about career choices.

What year were you born?

You're a great artist, btw!! And no, that wasn't TMI about a Sag's shagging life - that's just another positive plug for Fire signs

I just wondered if you were going through your Saturn Return - but you're not. You went through that between 3-5 years ago. That can be a challenging time!!!

The Saturn Return can start about 28-30 years and last a couple of years. Major changes can take place then.

ooh yes, my Saturn Return was hardcore... I reprioritized my life from the ground up, did MAJOR housecleaning in the friends dept, gave a final FU to the corporate world, and all around burned every bridge I never wanted to cross again, hehe. I also moved from LA (after 6 years) up to the Bay area... big changes & they weren't without some growin pains, but I am sooo much better off now

I toured the massage school yesterday and I think I may go for it. In spite of my obvious current difficuties due to Saturn, do you think the stars support this? I would begin classes Oct 7th & finish mid-December... eeeep!!
