Hey there guys, I need some astro-advice. So this past weekend, 24 to 25 October 2009, I attended a conference and someone came up to me and offered me a job, and it looks like the perfect job for me ... so now I'm wondering whether I could, should, would get the job, if you know what I mean? So any astro-interpretations would be most welcome. Let me give a few more details before posting my chart:
- I am currently teaching English to Koreans in a Korean public school.
- In the past, up until 2004 there-abouts, I was working at a university, teaching philosophy and doing a doctorate in philosophy. Some hectic changes came in my life, leading me here to Korea, where I am now considering staying indefinately.
- The job offer I got is for a private women's university called Sungshin Women's University, and it is close to the center of Seoul, which is where I want to be.

So the thing is, I have a very good feeling about this job - offer, especially as it sort of came out of nowhere and took me by surprise, and it seems so perfectly suited to my peace-seeking personality. I had the job interview at about 4pm Seoul time yesterday (Sunday, 25 October) and it seemed to go well but of course it's hard to tell whether they want me or not (it's almost like the start of a relationship! isn't it!!). I mean they asked me if I would be available in February for orientation. The term starts in March, which is when contracts get renewed etc. here in Korea and people move up or on or whatever. I guess my question is, what was going on planetery and transit wise this weekend, because so much happened and I'm slightly confused by all the new possibilities that have suddenly opened up ... .
Anyone with an astro opinion, please please tell me what you think? I'm putting up a chart with a lot of extra's that I don't know how to interpret that I got from astro.com so rather than try to figure it all out by myself I'm askin for some teachin ... Please please ... anyone? : D

Hi Fatinkerbell,

Not an astro advice, but I hope it helps.

If you want this job you don't need to know what the planets/stars are saying. The universe must have delivered this to you in answer to your desire to move closer to Seoul and to have a job that is more suited to your personality. Don't be confused by the possibilities. View it like you would a buffet table -- you don't need to put everything on your plate, just the ones you like. Btw, lots of options is always better than no options.

If you are sure you want this job, then the next step is to claim it. Declare to yourself that you're moving on to that job or something even much better. Decide what you want, otherwise the universe won't know what to give you. The perfect job offer will come to you much faster when you are in a state of excited anticipation.

Hey there Deux Antares : ) Thank you so much for answering. Your answer makes total sense to me ... I guess the universe already is pretty clear in the way this job offer came to me ... I mean it was pretty magical and felt really perfect when it happened. I'd been thinking about the possibility of going to a Women's University here in Korea ... dunno why exactly, but I was curious about the concept I guess. But the main thing is that Sungshin University is about half a dozen subway stations from Samgakji station, which is where I need to be once every two weeks - for therapy! I know I know ... therapy? But in my case I really need it and I finally found a therapist that I can relate to. So anyway in that respect it would be a really good thing for my life to get this job. Well usually at a buffet table I kinda grab the first thing I see that looks edible and nice ... I like to make up my mind quickly, so, Universe, the answer is Yes! I can totally see myself in this job : ) Anyway thanks DA ... Have a cool week : D

Thanks LU, that's so sweet : D Maybe I'll keep this thread alive and let anyone who's interested know how it goes. It'll be a few months though before I'd start there, 'cos New Year in Korea goes according to the Chinese Lunar Calender so next year is still far away : ) Actually 'next year' is basically March. Still the winter to get through, which is already kicking in over here ...

hi

i cant offer you astro advice but i can tell you what i feel,i hope it resonates with you.

if the Universe already offered you this job perspective, why not ask for a guidance on what it concerns the theraphy?

if it is your soul+s desire to go for the job,but youre worried about the therapy thing...ask your Higher Self or the Universal Energy to show you what you need to know,in order to know what to do.

dont worry about the "how"just trust and have FAITH about the "what you want"

Hi Diandra ... thanks for the input ... Yes I must say that actually the most important consideration for me is my therapy, and maybe that is what I should be focusing my spiritual energy on through asking for guidance. The fact is that something extremely traumatic happened to me many many years ago ... almost 20 years ago. It's kind of unpleasant to speak about it but it's not gratuitous ... it makes sense in terms of this question to explain here that I was raped by my biological father, who I met for the first time when I was sixteen, and who I haven't spoken to for almost 20 years now. So that's what the therapy is for: I'm actually extremely suicidal, especially recently, but I'm sort of trying to fight it, you know? So this is like a sickness that needs to be treated by a professional, and I really for the first time met someone I could talk to about it in my current therapist ... the thing is, I know it will actually take several years for me to get out of this 'suicidal tunnel vision' ... It's not something that can happen overnight. Even with medication, which I am on, I need to talk out what happened with someone who knows what they're doing. In this respect I cannot heal myself... believe me I've tried! So for me being willing to go to therapy is already in a way accepting the guidance of the universe. The job will also be good for me because I will have more time to be by myself and to reflect and meditate and write ... I'm actually writing a book about what happened to me and it's very disturbing to relive it all, so I need time to go like into that place and then come out of it again in order to work and teach and live. So yes, for me, the job is like a ship come to save me from a deserted island because it is a women's university and it's very sort forward looking and I know I have something to give to the students. I mean I have a certain strength which has helped me through my life and I have it to share. So anyway, Diandra ... I'll think on that some more. Sorry for over-sharing, but I thought it is kind of relevant, you know?

I am looking at your progressed chart and the Gang of Three as Anne Ortelee calls them, i.e. Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter, are hovering aroung your progressed MC, which tells me that something to do with expansion/luck, healing/wounds and dreams/illusions is going to affect your Midheaven, the angle of career, social standing, and the place of our vocation.

Also, transiting North Node is in your 10th House, the house of career, social standing, and vocation...

Also, transiting Venus(money) is in your house of partnerships, so your are getting money from partners or giving a partner money. So, ask yourself which is more likely.

Also, progressed Sun and Mercury are conjunct your DC, the cusp of the house of partnerships, therefore illuminating partnerships and opening communication with partners with the intention of making partnerships.

Transiting NN is conjunct your progressed Jupiter so there is an interplay of destiny(where we are heading) combined with Jupiter's expansive powers, beneficial powers, and powers of wisdom, so... I speculate that you are going to run into some luck with things that affect your destiny these days. Choose with your heart and with wisdom and not with fear to get a favourable result.

In other words...

I am not into predictive anything, but if I had to say anything, especially with a natal Jupiter conjunct MC, transiting Jupiter conjunct progressed MC, there is a lucky and beneficial occurrence that is taking place for/in your career. Now, with free will, we can never know for sure, but opportunities are all over the show with regards to your career. Very nice.

to add:

solar arc Jupiter is square natal Mars right now, so something is happening physically in your life that is beneficial. With Jupiter being a benefic, the square doesn't mean that something "negative" will occur. We can say that something is occurring and it could be good or bad, but with Jupiter being in the mix, we can bet that it is something good and profound.

Also, to reinforce that the transits upon natal and progressed chart will probably yield something tangible and something that is physically manifested in your life; solar arc Uranus is semi-square your Jupiter (and solar arc Moon is bi-quintile your Jupiter too, which is a lovely effect psychologically) which means that you might expect some fast, electric changes concerning places where Jupiter plays a part, i.e. career.

I only looked at the things relevant to MC.

I don't trust myself with predictive things because with Jupiter conjunct AC, I am too positive. I look at the brighter side and that's not cool because it is not balanced, you see? ...which makes me more of a pet talker/"cheerleader", than an astrologer in this instance because I so much want this to happen for you. It's when I am not emotionally invested that I make good calls.

Because, I could have emphasized the Neptune on your MC too, and said that maybe you could be unrealistic in your career or vocational aspiration, but I don't like that interpretation.

I'd rather say, 'Neptune on MC tells me that you should get creative in your career and dream a little because dreaming BIG means manifesting BIG things'

See?

I'm useless.

No, you're a genius Unmoved! Wow, in a few months once I've mastered more of these concepts I'll come back and read this interpretation again ... It's so beautiful! I don't understand half of it, but I want to, and I will! Astrology is really amazing!! Anyway you can be my pet astrologer any day Unmoved : D I do understand the bit about you being overly optimistic sometimes because of your Jupiter conj AC ... I'm afflicted by insane optimism as well and I do actually need to be a bit more practical. But again, that is for the future. For the present I will continue to believe that Santa has a job for me for Christmas : D

I think that's a cool way to go. In the meantime, how about you apply at more places?

As for the reading, I am disappointed that you didn't understand because it means I used too much jargon. Actually, it is because I assumed you'd know what I mean...

In the meantime, read up on:
Jupiter conjunct MC/Mid-heaven.
NN in 10th
and...
transiting Jupiter in 10th house, 11th house
transiting Neptune in 10th and 11th houses
transiting Chiron in 10th and 11th houses
transiting Venus in 7th house
transiting Sun in 7th
transiting Mercury in 7th
for now... lol

just google.
this will make you get what I am on about.

Unmoved ... don't be disappointed! I sort of get it ... my inner fledgling astrologer gets it anyway! I believe in sort of absorbing things you don't understand by first just taking it it without anxiety, and then letting it take root in your unconscious mind. I will make your reading list a priority for next week, so that if needed I can ask you some questions : ) Well Google and me are best friends and I'm a fast learner so I'm grateful to you for using the jargon ... actually it's exactly what I need to make a study of the situation myself : )
Yes I am applying to other places as well, and I do have a fall back plan that if I don't get an uni job I'll get a school job just closer to Seoul. There are many on offer.

So I've been doing a little astrology homework folks, and I've also had some more communication with Sungshin University, and it all sounds quite positive!!! They will ask me to do a demonstration lesson, and I'm really really good at those. (Not blowing my own horn, but I'm the queen of demo lessons because I love showing off!!!!! : )
Here's the e-mail:
Dear Jooyoung,

I am very excited about doing a demo lesson for you! Don't worry, I'm not impatient. : ) So, yes, I can wait some more. Thank you VERY much for your reply and I'm looking forward to hearing about the demonstration details and dates. No need to apologize for keeping me waiting ... I understand very well that these things take time. I shall hold myself in readiness. I just want to say that Sungshin Women's University is really my first choice of University jobs in Korea, so I hope that I will win you over with my demonstration.

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much again,

C.

After it's finalized, candidates will be asked to give a demonstration.

Sorry for keeping you waiting, but could you wait more?
I'll get back to you with the demonstration details and dates.

Kind regards,
Jooyoung

Dear Prof. Park,

Hi, how are you? I hope things are going well at Sungshin University : ) Ever since the interview at the KOTESOL conference I've been really excited about this opportunity. I'm writing to you now to confirm that you received my full Curriculum Vitae, Resume, my Degrees and my letters of recommendation?
I'm really looking forward to hearing from you as I would really like to work at Sungshin University. I hereby confirm that I am available for February orientation. When will the selection commitee make its decision, and do I need to come in for a follow-up interview? Also, if there is anything else you need from me, please let me know!

Well, I hope you have a lovely day, and that the weather isn't too bad this week : )

So what I've learned so far of predictive astrology is that basically one's natal chart is like a potential blueprint and as time goes by and the planets move around, or in other words 'transit' the natal chart positions, sometimes opportunities arise for the natal chart to realize it's potential... Am I on the right track?

Well I'm looking at Jupiter at the moment, which is conjunct my MC (thanks Unmoved, I'm on point number one of 'things to google') in my birthchart, and using an ephemeris for 2010 I've noticed that Jupiter will then be in my 11th house, going on 12th house, forming a sextile to Jupiter for my birthchart, so I'm assuming that this period of time, that is March next year, will be favorable for me to really get going career - wise ... again, am I on the right track? Don't worry, if no-one feels like replying to my homework I'll just chat to myself in this thread, lol : )

Hi fatinkerbell,

I'm a newb to astrology and can't really offer you any advice in that regards but I just want to drop you a line and wish you the best
I'm so sorry about what happened to you and really hope you will successfully come out of it (and it looks like you are on your way with the therapist you are able to connect with).
I'm not sure if you remember, but you did a tarot reading for me once here on this forum and may i just say what you told me really inspired me. I can really see the teacher/mentor in you as you were trying to guide me in my own spiritual journey (you told me about ur experiences and how you go into tarot reading and recommended me to read Steppenwolf, which i have yet to do but it has always been on the back of my mind)

Anyways, I'm kind of rambling on, but i truly wish you the best in whatever you do and have to face in the future!
