I don’t always do such a hot job of reading my own charts – mainly because I only seem to process the good points (I chalk that up to Sun-Mercury conj in Leo). Although, looking at this chart I am bothered by something…

I see that I have that wonderful New Moon in the 9th house (yay for me and Arnold! Big hahas, I wonder if he had Venus in the 12th in his SR last year also…Hmm…) however my chart ruler, the usually benevolent Jupiter, is squaring the whole thing. It is almost exact and ruining everything (okay, I am dramatic too)!

Also, I am having that age 32 Venus and Mars return this year (Which hit my natal DC and 5th house, respectively) but there is Jupiter again, squaring the crap out of my Venus. So, will Jupiter negate all of my happiness?

Here is a tiny bit of back story:
I am in love! It is serious! He is foreign (and legal)! His name asteroid is right in the center of my SR Sun/Moon conjunction! He is also a Leo!

Sorry for all of the exclamation points, I am just happy with my love life right now and that is very rare (see: all of my other posts, ever)…

downtomars,

Nothing should negate your happiness, though it may throw some challenges your way.

Jupiter squaring your Venus just means you may be prone to overindulgences, especially in Venus-ruled areas: food, personal pampering, etc. Here is a description from the CafeAstrology site:

"Jupiter transits square Venus:

Overindulgence is the theme of this transit. Your desire for pleasure increases dramatically, and you are likely to overestimate your ability to indulge and get away with it! You may also come across as insincere or superficial at this time. You may overspend or overeat -- both symptoms of your inner restlessness. It can be hard to focus on your responsibilities at this time due to a desire to spoil yourself with pleasurable activities. You need to exercise some moderation at this time."

Don't let anything dampen your enthusiasm for your new relationship!! Enjoy it and explore it without worrying about those transits.

I've been through some dark times with my guy in the past, punctuated by tough transits for the both of us, but we're together despite all that. Sometimes tough transits can shake things up, but if your r'ship can get through it, it will be all the stronger for it.

Thank you for the information and well wishes Sunshine! I had a feeling that with Jupiter involved something will be overdone or overextended in some way. Since it falls in my 6th, oh okay, I am actually feeling something about this now, maybe my work will be affected because of the attention I am putting on relationship matters (?). Or maybe an overseas trip could affect my job (meaning if I decide to go, I could lose my job)… Of course, that is a very literal translation of the aspect. I don’t know, I guess I am just so focused on the Jupiter aspects that I am ignoring the Mars squares from the 7th!

I know that in many cases a Jupiter square is fairly mild and it usually means overdoing or overemphasizing things or in excess but since it is the chart ruler I am concerned.

This is what I found over at Cafe Astrology:

quote:
Solar Return Sun opposition or square Solar Return Jupiter

There is a tendency to get involved in projects that could be beyond your capacity. Be realistic and don't get carried away with your exaggerated enthusiasm. Your positive attitude and your imagination will increase. This influence encourages you to undertake tasks or to run risks that you have not dared to do before. It is important that you don't overextend your energy so that you will be able to finish what you have started.

You could also become too generous and extravagant. This will be more noticeable if by nature you are a conservative person. You probably won't pay much attention to details or the opinions of others, which could lead to some sort of trouble. You also could become somewhat careless with your paper work and neglect to do what is expected of you.

This could be reflected in your daily diet as well, which consequently could lead to gaining weight. It is important to watch your nutrition and your liver. Don't indulge in food excessively.

Solar Return Moon Hard aspects to Jupiter

Suggest a period of emotionalism, with big feelings and the urge to expand your circle. Of all of the Moon's aspects, this one is the most frequently active in years when things come to individuals, such as money, gifts, and rewards. Besides potential windfalls, this aspect generally brings with it a positive and happy emotional outlook.

So the Moon aspect is not so bad, it is actually pretty good considering that it is in Leo which means:

quote:
One of the most "favorable" Moon signs in the Solar Return chart is Leo. A cheerful and strong emotional state dominates the year. If other factors support it, it may be a time when the native attracts romance into the life. Because the emotional responses are very stable and positive, even if the Moon, for example, squares Pluto, indicating sweeping changes in the emotional life, the native tends to turn changing circumstances into something positive.

Plus it is a New Moon so:

quote:
Solar Return Sun Aspects with Solar Return Moon

When the Sun conjuncts, opposes, or squares the Moon in the Solar Return chart, this points to a key period in the native's life when major new beginnings, endings, and activities occur. For example, marriages or births of a first child occur frequently when the Sun conjuncts the Moon in the SR chart. Culminations often occur when a Full Moon occurs in the SR chart.

These hard aspects of the Sun and Moon often point to relationships and/or significant times in the native's life when his or her actions receive real reactions in the life. There is little moderation in the native's life during these periods. The Sun-Moon conjunction is a dynamic aspect, but besides signifying new beginnings, it is also a very receptive energy. Things tend to come to the native, while things appear to be taken from the native when the Sun is in opposition to the Moon in the natal chart.

Hard Sun-Moon aspects in the Solar Return signify turning points in the native's life. Connections are made or ended. With a square between the Sun and the Moon, either there is an event that changes the native's life significantly, or there is some kind of conflict arising from a great urge to do something different. All hard aspects point to a very busy, dynamic, and significant period in the life.

Solar Return Sun conjunct Solar Return Moon

This astrological influence is very strong and accentuates the possibilities of the Sun's position by house. The energy of these two adjacent luminaries could be very intense. You will be more sensitive and will react more strongly to things around you. The New Moon under which your birthday falls indicates new experiences, initiatives, and success in projects that are begun in this period. This energy is concentrated in the house that the Sun occupies during this year and will benefit you immensely.

You may also become more sentimental and have the need to strengthen your family ties. Your interest in discovering your roots will increase and you will feel more connected and attached to those who have had an influence on your childhood and your early home environment. This influence also favors contact with the public, especially women.

Well this year actually looks a lot better than the last year! The 2010-2011 horrible t-square was truly in full effect…

Okay since I have brightsided this I am looking for someone to bring my attention to something else – hopefully some good things!
