I've never really paid much attention to chiron before but after reading up about the nodes and seeing my natal chiron conjuncts the south node and venus in my sun sign aries tenth house I'm guessing this is a pretty big factor in my life, something I should be sitting up and taking note of. Can anyone put this one together though as I can't figure out Chiron conjunct south node and venus. Does this show something as drastic as how I'm going to die or that I need to come off my high horse or what? Anyoneelse having confusion on their Chiron or Nodes meanings? What are yours?

Numble,

Chiron is the 'wounded healer', which means it indicates where you have a sense of wounding, but also how you may heal yourself by working through the emotions released.

Chiron on your South Node conj Venus indicates you may have a tendency to feel you've been wronged and that you've suffered injustices in the past, particularly in the relationship arena. It brings with it a sense of how to tackle problems since you've lived through them before. The Venus placement may make you a natural charmer/smooth talker with much tact but also a tendency to laziness.

The rest of your chart may help indicate how to deal with these placements, but in general, Chiron shows you how you may heal yourself - by working through the issues it raises, you can heal yourself.

Hope this helps,
Sunshine

ps. I also have the NN in Libra / SN in Aries axis in my chart. The placement sheds more cues on how to foster soul development.

The SN in Aries results in natives who have a tendency to want to tackle issues by themselves. NN in Libra indicates that we must learn to reach out, seek support and connect with others.

Sunny, what about NN in Pisces?
I know the usual stuff they say about Pisces but it's so hard to make this reality esp. in my 1st/2nd house cusp!

Hi Sunshine! Thank you this makes some sense to me as I have had a lot of hurt in terms of career and working life and the people I meet there. I've learnt to tackle my own emotions to some extent when I am at work with some people but I am not so sure about the venus sitting right on my south node opposing my pluto - some sort of 4th/10th house issues that maybe are yet to come to the fore when I have family of my own? How does this work for you? SN in 10th house. Does Chiron conjuncting this make it more powerful an issue or is it a type of benefic I wonder conjuncting the horrible south node and my detrimented venus in aries?

Hi Anongrl
Forgive me as I'm an astrology newbie but would this be something to do with developing more piscean qualities and looking to find those qualities in yourself - 1st house issues are generally about self-esteem and appearance - in this case maybe even how you perceive yourself to the world as opposed to how you actually are? Maybe enveloping your gentleness and caring side onto yourself?

hi numble and welcome!

Sure, NN in a sign means your destiny is tied to developing the traits of this sign. That's the *general* meaning.
It gets a bit more "hairy" when you look at someone's chart. For instance, I have Nept conjunct MC and so I guess not exactly "foreign" to the gentleness of a Pisces when it comes to the "public view".
For me, the NN-SN interplay, like any other opposition, is a dynamic thing; that is, something to always watch out for balance. In this sense it's also a long-term thing; not something you "resolve" in a moment in your life and it's over. It's part of your developmental (learning) "curve" so to speak.

Hi anongrl10!!

I'm baaack; sorry I missed all these threads while I was away!

So let's work through the placement you've described: NN in Pisces / SN in Virgo would mean that you have a tendency to be a worrier, particularly when it comes to relationships & partnerships with other people. You probably are a natural perfectionist in such matters, over-analyzing every move/conversation and wanting things to go a certain way, perhaps even to the extent of trying to exert control over the interactions. North Node in Pisces is suggesting you hold back from wanting to fix every friendship/ relationship to your satisfaction. Its placement in the first house asks you to ground yourself and have faith in the workings of the universe. After all, we can only 'control' ourselves, it says - "won't you let go of the need to fix relationships and work with me instead?" It wants you to cultivate a holistic approach to everything you do, and find inspiration in just being you.

Do you do yoga, anongrl? Have you tried meditation? These practices may help you ground yourself better, and develop that trust in the universe's plan. Meditation, I've found, helps ground me; it helps me sail a bit more calmly through stormy seas than I might otherwise. There are also great books out there - the Celestine Prophecy by James Redmond is a good one for starters, if you haven't read it.

Just a thought,
Sunshine

Numblebum,

Any planet conjunct the NN/SN axis amplifies the polarity and adds flavor to the polarity of the nodes.

In your case, Venus and Chiron sit on the South Node, amplifying your sense of being wronged by coworkers at the office, or in a manner that you feel has hurt your career. Your first instinct may be to retreat into yourself when you sense such situations arising once again.

I think what Pluto conjunct your North Node in Libra might mean in this case is that your solution lies in finding and forming a strong support system at home, within your family. You may find that reaching out to them and confiding in them about your concerns will lighten your burden. The Plutonian placement suggests that you will find security in being understood, and in establishing safe emotional foundations at home. You may also find yourself striving to understand the psyche of others, strengthening the depth of the connection.

And Numble, there is nothing horrible about the South Node, or your Venus in Aries.. That Venus must make you a very interesting gal (I'm assuming you're a woman) to be around, with a fiery, winsome personality - impulsive, self-confident & blunt, the strong independent alpha of your clique. It's just work that makes you feel wounded. But you'll learn to deal with it, now that you know how that Pluto on your NN can help.

In fact, I'm getting the feeling that you have the ponderous Pluto on your North Node precisely to help you balance the dual influence on your South Node, and what a lovely way to deal with work frustrations! The universe has ways to help us with everything..

Thanks, sunnie!
It's been a looooooooooooong time since I read the Celestine Prophecy, an all time favorite.
I'm very spiritual (I do intuitive tarot, meditate, do yoga, etc.) so maybe my NN is satisfied. Question (probably just to myself) is: why does it feel like not enough?

I should add that natal Pluto closely conjuncts my SN in Virgo. And the houses are 2nd-8th rather than 1st-7th (very early 2nd-8th to be precise, that's why I consider the 1st-7th also involved).

This is lovely. Thank you so much Sunshine. You have got all of that spot on I would say. I don't like the venus bit one bit as being everything sat right 'there' it seems to be everything like a task master for me when I already have that with my Saturn in Leo 2nd house aspecting my 10th sun already. Pluto on the north node just seems to make it all part of power issues at home though sometimes when somehow my partner thinks I'm more interested in work than him (there may be some element in the fact I have so much going on in the tenth, 2nd and 6th houses)
Also I'm getting the feeling that venus in this position for me doesn't help me feel particularly feminine or womanly most of the time nor does it help with creative pursuits coming out as particularly beautiful or aesthetically pleasing sometimes - I am actually a professional artist? In fact it makes me feel quite masculine with all my cardinal, fiery, masculine elements in my chart - Venus isn't helping to alleviate any of this I don't think lol!
Thank you Sunshine you have made my day by looking at it this way!
