Here's my chart. Let me know if you are interested in adding particular asteroids.

I am sort of at some career crossroad and maybe you could help read what would looks like a good career focus for me or what kind of home/career balance would resonate with my natal characteristics.

I love my job, but it requires a lot of travelling and I need to be away from home a lot. When a few years younger, I felt the excitement of all this out-of-town travel/extended stay abroad, but now, at times I feel tired and miss family & friends. Yet, with the current economic conditions, to stay in my current work I would need to accept the travel or even transfer to another office.

Another aspect is, at this point, if I give myself a push, I could get to the next level. However, up to now, I have not been too proactive in it, because there are things in the next level that I am uncertain about my suitability (though there would likely be good money & prestige).

In my job I have both selling and delivery/execution responsibilities. As I go up, the proportion of selling would increase and selling means sales quota *ugh*. Also, for the next level, I will no longer be strictly an employee, but part of a partnership business.

The reason I am not asking horary is that I think I would like to make a decision myself based on what would suit my inborn characteristics and karmic life goals etc, even if the path will be tough

OK, yuting, fantastic description of your situation and one that fits your natal chart perfectly.
With Mars, NN and MC all in the 9th house of travel and foreign cultures (I see you use the equal houses system) opposite your DC and Venus the ruler of your ASC AND Sun the ruler of your 4th house of home/roots/family life, it's no wonder you are in this dilemma.
You mentioned the stress with selling quota if you accepted the promotion and so I looked at Mercury. Merc rules your 2nd house of income so it's clear you can be successful in sales. Natally, your Merc is in the 4th house in Virgo so very much at home there! I can see the tag-war again here since Merc is at home in the house of home/roots/family which is opposed the 10th and 9th and your MC in the house of travel.
Let's check your emotional needs, the Moon. Your Moon is in Aries in the 11th house of Aqua, friends, groups, associations, wishes and hopes. Your Moon also trines your Venus and Sun on the IC (home). So the message again is one of using your "fire" (Moon in Aries, Mars in the 9th in the house of Sag) to bring happiness at home.
The biggest evidence that foreign lands and travel and building a home abroad is your destiny is the NN in Aqua in the 9th house. The Moon sextiles the NN and the MC. So you will be happy (emotionally fulfilled) if you pursue your NN destiny. Although Sun and Venus oppose your NN, you have the support of Mars. Mars in Aqua is all about intellect. Can you improve your studies taking a course abroad? Building a home abroad is the answer for you. That would bring the two poles in the opposition in a dynamic interaction for your happiness and fulfillment.
The NN is your destiny to strive for in this lifetime. It's the opposite of the SN which is your "comfort zone", the easy route, one you have learned to do over several previous lifetimes. The way to reconcile the two is to use the skills of your SN in order to serve you in your striving to reach your NN.
Cooking, traditions, home-making, anything that Venus and Sun like are your talents. Use them to achieve success in the fashion that a NN in Aqua in the 9th house would require.
One question I have is what kind of "product" you currently sell. If it's related to home in any way, your chances of big success (in line of the above analysis) are good. Mercury is your friend and one of your talents, so don't be afraid of selling and be creative about it. You have Venus (art), Sun (spotlight) and Merc (communication) on your side.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. Certainly helps me put things in perspective. I have an inkling I need to find my future away from home, and my home home is my emotional strength, which when I am really tired, I come back to recharge. So while home & friends are my dilemma, I have pretty much accepted it (except when really stressed). But because of all the travelling, seems like hard to find a bf. Believe or not, I didnt have my 1st serious relationship till I was 37.

Yes, I am using equal house now. Used to use placidus, but with my travel pattern and the fact that I have many foreign friends and exposure, I think 9H Mars & MC seem to fit better. As for Sun & Venus, both 3H & 4H could work. And actually, I feel more like a 5H mercury (per placidus) than a 4H mercury (per equal). But I think the 9H characteristics are too strong to ignore.

I am a management consultant, so I sell services. Certainly using a lot of mercury, cos creative solutions to business problems is the game.

I know I am not too bad at selling if I have to (not cold call type though), but I do not enjoy it. I really prefer delivery (ie actually working on the projects I have sold or others have sold), esp project management. Because that is the way I can actually see the actual benefits. So if I get promoted, I might not have as much opportunities for this kind of satisfying involvement. Thus the dilemma.

I think responding quickly to changes and finding practical solutions to handle crisis appeal to my Uranian side. Somehow I feel Uranus is strong in my chart. What do you think?

Also, if I move up, it will not be the normal management post. It will be becoming a partner in a partnership. From my chart, does it look I am suited for involvement in a partnership?

I got my degree in US and did home stay in Japan before

Now, every project is learning for me anyway.

Love this. We are of like minds here. I dislike it when people say all these bad things about SN. But without the SN, what can we leverage to go forward. Every one needs support and rest from time to time, even as we pursue our goals. No one can focus on NN alone, with no rest. It is just a matter of balance.

I am not quite making a home abroad now. As the projects are in different places, so even if I move to one city, I will still likely have to travel to other places often.

I think I see how it is working out is whenever I am on home trip, I'd like to invite people to my home for good food and wine. I also like all kinds of traditional festivals and celebrations. As for home-making...well I hate housework :P

Venus and Sun...well, I love the performing arts, both as audience and as participant.

Hmmm...I love the outdoors in nature too, esp when there is sunshine. (very literally the Sun )

Yes, Uranus rules your 10th and trines your 9th house Mars/NN and your MC.

Uranus is in Libra, a sign that thrives in partnerships. Also Cap rules your 9th and Cap is good with leadership positions.

Your 7th, the house of business and other partnerships, is ruled by Virgo, which is ruled by Merc. I know you don't enjoy selling as much but Merc works in your chart. Merc is not only about selling. Communications, being the go-to person is Merc as well. Can you talk to your mentor at work about the specific responsibilities you will have as a partner. I feel this is such a great opportunity to just pass by.

You simply sound burned out to me. You sound like you have been working very hard. You absolutely need the balance of home in order to achieve your goals effortlessly i.e. from a happy place. Like the SN-NN balance that you understand so well, you need to balance your 4th and 10th houses. Use the warmth and stability of the 4th to propel you forward in your 10th. Btw, making friends other people who are like you i.e. travel a lot is critical for your emotional well-being too.

7H ruler is Merc? I thought it's Mars/Pluto. But I guess Mars drives my work, so would still be partnership in work?

I am attaching myself to a boss who's good at selling, so he can be my mentor as well as work together on sales (so I dont need to go it alone). I know I've been avoiding talk about how and when of promotion with him cos till now, I still have reluctance to push myself in that selling part :P

Me work too hard? hohoho, I think I am one of the laziest in my work. But maybe a bit burnt out from living 80% of my past 2.5yr in hotel rooms.

Will definitely try to make friends every where I go

Anon girl,

I'd like to be a bit greedy...could you help me look at the synastry of me and the guy who's making me feel in a limbo and who's chart links strongly to my SN, please?

If possible, I'd like to know how you see our interaspects playing out for me, with what you read from my natal, esp with my career/NN direction and my Merc energy
