I'm really not sure how best to phrase the question in terms of horary charts so here are the options - 1) Is he back with his ex or 2) Will he and I work things out?

I'm starting to learn horary but this kind of 3 person question (and sometimes even phrasing the question) just foxes me completely! Really would like to learn though so any instruction would be much appreciated.

Would I be right in thinking that if I'm asking 'Is he back with his ex?' that she's represented by his 5th and 8th houses? He's represented by Uranus and the Sun and as the questioner, I'd be represented by the Sun (Leo Asc) and Moon? Just want to check I've got that right or if I'm way off.

If anyone has the time to advise me I'd be so grateful x

First off you have to pick one question.

Actually it is said that you should only do a horary chart if the question is so urgent and pressing, that it will not leave your mind. Only if that sense of urgency sets in, it is the right time to make a horary chart.

But in the least I think you have to choose one question.

Hi Ceridwen (beautiful name by the way!)
Yes it was pressing when I created the chart and I still want to know now if he's back with his ex so that would be the question I'd go for.

So would my previous post be correct in terms of who is represented by which planets etc? Thank you for your help

I'm thinking, no. But they're communicating?

That would seem to fit what my instinct tells me - because I'm not in contact with him at the moment it's hard to tell but it just occured to me that if they're back together that might be the reason he's not got in touch. Long and drawn out story I'm afraid!

Now so I understand it from a horary perspective is that because she's significated by Mercury and him the Sun and they're both in Sag but not conjunct?? Which would suggest they're in contact but not actually together?

I got slightly confused that my significator was the same as one of his in this but don't know if that means anything or if I'm just getting muddled!

Usually (if I remember) it's ruler of 1st house (so rising) and ruler of desc so (desc)

since it's Leo and Aquarius, it will be sun and uranus. And they should be aspecting each other but they're not.

I'm not 100% sure though, I'm not an expert lol.

Yep I'm just confused because I'm asking about two other people so didn't know whether she should be represented by the Asc significator/Moon or whether I should as the questioner? Very confusing!

.

I believe for horary, the principle is to use traditional rulership. Aquarius is thus ruled by Saturn

Ok thanks Yuting But what I'm really confused about it whether I use her as the Asc/Moon person in this or whether I put myself in there because I'm asking the question? I would guess I put her as the Asc/Moon which would be Sun/Moon and him as Saturn/Sun... which sort of suggests they might be back together if her significator is the same as one of his??

I have a pretty strong feeling you are the Asc, as this is clearly a 3P question, you cannot be the observer. Asc is querent and you are asking the question. Both him and her a quesitors. Him is most likely Desc ruler. My question is also which cusp ruler to use as her. I am wondering if it would be his 5H & 8H or the horary chart's 11H and 2H. The moon could be you and/or the situation (which if in gd aspect to your significator or asc would likely be favorable to you)

Thanks so much Yuting that makes sense - the 5th/8th house thing for her I actually got from reading a similar thread where someone had asked if the person they were interested in would leave his girlfriend for them and they were advised to use his (the Descendant's) 5th and 8th house rulers to signify the 3rd person.

So if I'm correct, his (Saturn's) 5th house in this case would be Neptune ruled and his 8th house Mercury ruled? Or if it's the horary chart's 11th and 2nd houses then that would be Mercury in both cases funnily enough.

Seeker,

the way you phrased this question actually DOES pull you out of the equation. So him and her would be ASC and DESC. Sun and Saturn.

So I guess this is a No. Especially with Sun being in Sagittarius, where he dislikes whatever Saturn represents.

Use this one. When we turn houses we use the cusp representing the querent as 1H for him. We do not turn the significator house

Ceri thanks so much for clearing that up! Just couldn't fathom my way through that and decide what was right (sooooo Libran of me haha!) but that's cleared it all up.

Thanks Yuting for that re turning houses too - all finally beginning to make sense!
