I am trying to understand this asteroid. Forgive me, if I err. There is precious little about many of the asteroids. The information out there can seem contradictory and thus, confusing. One must hone down each asteroid to it’s core quality in order to use it in the charts.One does not have room for intellectual mumbo-jumbo because one is trying to illuminate the lives of others.With that in mind, I will try to write about Hekate. This asteroid is the shadow self. It was called a “demon” . This term demon helps to illuminate Hekate. Demons are spiritual forces, which if let alone, will being us to our knees. They are powerful forces. However, if one brings them to the Light, they evaporate, as if to nothing. Hekate, strives to bring our unconscious self forward. Our unconscious self houses socially unacceptable emotions. One can get in trouble if these emotions stay blocked, as they can become a volcano and erupt, or stay inside and eat us up, from the inside . I would say that one could look at Hekate as the shadow self, as expressed by Jung . Hekate IS your Shadow Self, striving for you to take it out and bring it to the light. I will write more, as I do more charts and learn more.

With the Asteroid Pandora, most people know the story. Pandora was curious and unleashed all sorts of problems she later regretted. In the natal chart, Pandora is like Pholus in that it unleashes that which it touches. The person may not have restraint but may jump in to an action which later creates a terrible mess which one has to clean up .Pandora is about being rash .It is about having your emotions overwhelm your logic. You can’t wait and want what you want, NOW.In the natal, it can show immaturity. In synastry, it can show places where one person got out of control and brought havoc to the couple.

With asteroids, one must do one’s own research, as there can be precious little information available. I have been checking out Pholus in charts and have come to this conclusion. Pholus explodes what it touches. If Pholus touches Chiron, the planet of pain, a person will explode with his pain. If Pholus touches Ceres, the asteroid of unconditional love, the person may be a teacher who gives unconditional love to her students. This was the case in a chart I did. If one persons Pholus touches another persons planet, the Pholus person can make the planet person “explode” in that area. By explode, I mean come forth and break open. I liken it to an infection which comes to a head. Then, it can open and heal.. Each energy is part of being human. One must embrace each part of the chart as one must embrace each part of oneself.

I have named Pholus the “Ape in the China Shop” Asteroid. Pholus explodes on the scene. He can explode with whatever emotion is bothering him. He emotes, with little sensitivity to his environment. After he explodes with emotion, he does not have a sense of the havoc he has wreaked. Then, he, usually, blames someone else. Pholus is not manipulative, as much as childlike. If he wants to emote, you can be sure he will: the devil may care.

A woman had a man’s Pholus conjunct her NN. Indeed, it was an explosive relationship. It was not violent, per se, but high drama.
