I know we have had this topic some times, now, but I thought it was about time to start another one.

My hypothesis is, that the aspects to the ruler of 7th house, 5th house and 8th house are very significant in relationships.

Especially aspecting Sun, Moon, ASC (Venus, Mars), ruler of ASC, ruler of 5th house, ruler of 7th and ruler of 8th house.

I also think that the so called challenging aspects, conjunction, opposition, square, will often appear in very intensely romantic or passionate relationships.

Also, for a mutual romantic interest both people would need to have strong aspects to their 5th house ruler by the mentioned planets, or maybe aspects to the 7th house ruler could balance a lack of 5th house ruler aspects.

I must say, I only have experiences with Placidus houses in this regard.

So, for who is interested:

Have you found that

1. mutual loveaffairs or relationship had aspects to both 5th house rulers or 7th house rulers?

2. that in onesided affections
a) either only one person had these aspects
b) or both had 5th house ruler aspect, but they were blocked by other stressful aspects (I am thinking especially of SAturn-squares, conjunctions and oppositions in cases, when Saturn was NOT ruler of ASC, 5th, 7th or 8th house)?

Let me start with an example.

A friend of mine had been in a 7 years relationships with a guy, yet she claimed, that even though they were feeling comfortable with each other, they had never been in love.
They were a good team and almost like brother and sister, but never have been what we call "passionately in love".

Their aspects of 5th and 7th house ruler are:

her 7th house ruler trines his Moon and NN

her 5th house ruler widely conjuncts his Pluto (4)
her 5th house ruler sextiles his Moon and NN

His 7th house ruler has no aspects to her planets
his DESC conjunct her Moon, ruler of her ASC, even though a bit widish

his 5th house ruler has no aspects

He actually left her for a girl, whose Sun-Venus-conjunction fell onto the ruler of his DESC and 5th house!

on the following page, jane has a very interesting theory
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/012348-4.html

i've been in a the one in a sided attraction already, and the ruler of my fifth was a aspecting his ruler of fifth. i use whole signs and scorp is my 5th but in placidus, libra is my fifth. either way, his fifth is/was in aqua and his uranus sextile my pluto (1) and square my venus (5)

as for rulers of 7th, mine is saturn and his is mars. my saturn sextile is moon (2) and square his uranus - ruler of fifth (4)

his mars square my mars (1) and my chiron and asc were both quincunx one in taurus (chiron (1) the other in cancer (asc (0).

Pire,

yes, I read about that theory somewhere, too. And I think there might be something to it, and I would never underestimate the 8th house.
But according to the synastries I have seen it seems that sometimes people choose to not surrender to their 8th house needs as the depth and intimacy and intensity scares them. Somehow it seems to be easier to succumb to the playfulness of the 5th house.
But of course it depends on every individual chart.

"either way, his fifth is/was in aqua and his uranus sextile my pluto (1) and square my venus (5)"
Hmm, that doesn´t seem so strong to me. The square would be strong, yet uncomfortable, but it is really wideorbed. The sextile doesn`t seem strong to me.

Did your Venus or Pluto have other strong aspects to his chart?

"as for rulers of 7th, mine is saturn and his is mars. my saturn sextile is moon (2) and square his uranus - ruler of fifth (4) "
I am still on the fence about squares in the comparision of houseruler aspects.

On the one hand they are providing strong energy, much intensity.
On the other hand there is this disbalance and unease.
I never know, are they positive, because of the strong reactions they trigger, or negative, because the reactions may not be too positive?

Maybe those are the aspects that point the most at a certain: "Yes-No" pattern?

as I said I am still not completely sure about it.

BTW did you get my mail?

about my venus and pluto, my venus trine his moon (1), my pluto didn't aspect his chart. his pluto was sextile my jup (0) and mars (4). his venus opposed my mars (1) and trine my asc (0).

Pire,

his Venus opposed to your Mars seems the most significant one here.
Is Venus his 1st house ruler?
And Mars is the traditional ruler of your 5th house?

So, a strong connection between his 1st and your 5th house like this would definitely explain an attraction from you to him.
I often have found that the 1st house person becomes sort of "object of attraction / affection / desire" and sometimes isn`t even really aware of it or can`t return the offered feelings.
It is like the 1st house person just needs to be present to trigger strong reactions in someone who has strong aspects to the 1st house / ruler of 1st house.

Trines and sextile I haven`t found to be so strong.
Well, I haven`t found them as triggers of attraction. But once there are other stronger triggers of attraction, trines and sextiles operate as a very nice harmonious factor in underlying compatibility.

Hope you can sort out your computer problems. For very selfish reasons. I am pretty curious by now. But don`t feel pressured by this.

My girlfriend and I have a ton of stuff going on with our 7th house chart rulers.

Mine 7th house chart ruler is Sag (Jupiter)
My jupiter conjunct her sun
square her moon
trine her jupiter
sextile saturn (though I'n not sure that counts since its outer)

Her 7th house chart ruler is Aries (Mars)
her mars is conjunct my sun
sextile my venus
sextile my saturn
opposition with my uranus (ouchie!)
trine north node
conjunct chiron

Also, my moon has a 0 degree conjunction with her Ascendant and my sun has a 4 degree conjunction with her descendant. Her moon has a 0 degree conjunction with my descendant and her vertex has a 0 degree conjunction with my ascendant. We also have a double whammy conjunction with our chart rulers venus and mercury.
