I don't think it's so much as a trust issue with you as it seems more that the person in question has a lot of issues in general, having been betrayed or put in a vulnerable position where to become intimate is to be too much and rather than hurt you, the honorable thing to do in his opinion would be to walk away. Seems he looks on you with such admiration, both for your great soul and sunny disposition that he believes he would only bring harm/ be a burden to you should he open up any more. Lemme pull another card...

The perfect balance of this would be to give and receive equally. I wonder if that means you may need to share some of your struggles too and show a slightly vulnerable side of you to help him understand that you are very human, just like him, and you kbow what it's like to be in his position.

Looks like there will be a lot of going back and forth/ pushing and pulling between you and a very stern yet thoughtful young man. He's been rather quiet lately and it seems like he's fighting his desire to be open with you with what he wants in life concerning you.

I both like and don't like that scenario. Part of me longs for predictability and stability, to live comfortably as an extension of my man's self. I came out of a longterm relationship earlier this year in which my ex was jealous of my sociability and tried to put keep me away from everyone by keeping me home. Was very painful.

The other part of me wants to be in control of self and regardless of who comes and goes, I will be self sufficient.

You know, I did say 'no thanks' last year when he came back again. We did go out for coffee a few days back and he 'explained' why he didn't tell me the whole truth back then tried to excuse his behaviour. That was ok, but I STILL have the feeling he isn't telling me the truth 100%! I know that.
