I am pretty much an amateur when it comes to reading a synastry chart, so I am hoping all of you experts could give me some input!

I would like to know if there are any indications in this synastry chart between an ex-lover and me is a karmic relationship. Is there anything that stands out that would bring us together?

He and I remain friends to this day, even though we did not speak to each other for 2 years after we split up. It is weird because the connection that he and I have is unlike anything I have experienced. We seem to pick up conversation smoothly, as if nothing had happened or we didn't take a break from each other. He tells me that he considers me one of his best friends, and I would very much consider him one of mine even though we are in a strange, platonic situation right now.

I have studied the chart and noticed certain aspects. I see that my Jupiter conjuncts his NN in the 7th house. His moon in my 7th house close to my DC. His Chiron also conjuncts my Midheaven. While these are nice aspects, I see many more difficult ones and it doesn't explain to me why or how come we have come together again as friends.

You seem to have found some of the major karmic aspects already. I can't tell how close the orb is, but (I think you are on the outside wheel?) it looks as if his Venus conjuncts your South Node. If that's the case, then that usually signifies having been lovers in a past life and is certainly karmic. This is a lifetime to balance any outstanding karma that the two of you share from that life and since you are the SN it may be up to you to do it.

Also, you both have Vertex falling into the other's 12th house which might signify a soul connection as well, especially since your Sun and Mercury also fall in to his 12th and his Venus fall in to your 12th.

As far as friendship goes, the ruler of your 11th house is Mercury. (As a side note, Mercury is conjunct your Vertex. Any planet conjuncting our Vertex is usually an important part of our life path - I have found - and so transits to and from Mercury will be especially important to you, as will communication in general.) And again, since Mercury rules your 11th house and falls into his 12th, he may feel a special spiritual connection to you that is rooted in friendship.

Similarly, his NN falls into your 11th house and conjuncts your Jupiter which could indicate that he is learning things about friendship from you in a Jupiterian way. Perhaps lessons about friendship/abundance?

The ruler of his 11th house is Pluto and you look to have a wide conjunction between his Pluto and your Moon. Moon/Pluto can be a very bonding aspect whether it's friendship or something more. Also, your Pluto falls in to his 11th house (of friendship).

In addition, your IC is also falling in to his 11th house and is conjunct his Ceres.

The NN is the exact opposite degree to the SN so you would find out what degree Venus is at and what degree your SN is at and if the orb is under 5 degrees, I would definitely count that as being relevant to past life energy. Some use a much closer orb but as far as astro energy goes, I think it's pertinent.

You also have mutual Moon/Jupiter aspects so that's always a good feeling aspect for any kind of relationship, in case I didn't mention it before. As for Karma asteroid, I tend to look at the conjunctions/oppositions mostly, but that's a personal preference.
