the question thats troubling me immensely is: what is this stuff happening between me and someone i've been thinking of as a friend [whose GF is also my friend]? what does he want from me?

Thank you for the reading. it's difficult to comment since it seems to take a big time frame.
Of course, the magician please me And the second card ask the best question : I am ready for a new love so soon after everything that happened to me this year ? Even this last few weeks ?
For the thrid card, I don't think that I'm the devil or more precisely that I live only for carnal pleasure etc... I'm the serious type. So I don't know who could it be ? Or maybe it could be related more onan event ?

7. I would say I am a big giver in love. But I agree that I have lesson to learn.

8. For the moment at least, it's not the case. Except for F who didn't supported me in this difficult time, I received support and encouragement. The person the most disapointed in me is probably me.

So what card was no. 9? 10 swords is his girlfriend, I'm pretty sure. she's hurt already, because she thinks that he thinks she doesn't understand him and has no potential to. there is alienation. i think.

I do feel trapped at the thought of carrying on with him. What is shameful is that doing anything we wouldn't have done in front of [mutual] friends is not so much doing something dishonourable as suspecting each other of being capable of doing something dishonourable. Hence the High Priestess, equally accurate, it does feel like some gate or other I am scared of entering.

2 cups - there has been this vibe of regret. I could sense it on and off.

10 Pents - he is from an upper-middle class family, roots/upbringing/education/friends, it's all there

king of pents - i imagine it must be some progress in his career recently made. he's also been doing something comparatively lucrative as a source of income.

Chariot - there is stuff that needs keeping tabs on, this is all i know. i sense trouble and things getting out of control.

In some regards to being disillusioned when it comes to emotions at the moment, for sure! But it is nothing concrete. I swing back and forth in terms of how I feel about this person. It is definitely a "head-up-in-the-clouds" feeling.

Our relationship has always been long-distance, which puts strain on any relationship eventually. We have rekindled a friendship recently, and it is still long-distance. Thousands of miles away, actually, so not sure if any physical attraction is present. He has done/said things that may indicate he still has feelings for me, but who knows! He may just be playing head games with me.
