This is exactly it..especially this: "On the one hand “We are meant to be…” on the other, “But if we are, why is it so hard?” " Good thing is that we don't have any 12th house planets squaring any other, which is why I believe we have lasted so long.
Lol, we only have TWO squares in our whole composite! No wonder we're so "comfortable". Just thought I would share for those interested. IP: Logged |

Definitely resonates with a composite chart I have with someone with a 12th house Sun, although both of our 12th houses are empty natally. Yes, I like her blog, too.  Having said that I checked a few composite and was surprised Moon in 12th house occurred.
Antonio Banderas - Melanie Griffith: Moon in 12th
my brother and his gf (7 years so far, and they are not even 30. lol): Sun, Mercury,Venus conjunction in 12th house in Pisces
friends of mine (12 years): Moon in Pisces in 12th house
Paul Mc Cartney and his wife Linda: Moon and Neptune in 12th house
my parents (38+ years of marriage): Moon in Cancer in 12th house
Pierre and Marie Curie: Moon in Capricorn in 12th house
Just thought it was interesting. There were quite some stable couples in there, and at least in the case of those I know people who have been "family" from the instant they met (well my parents said so, I wasn`t present then  ).
A hard to grasp feeling of belonging, that makes for a strong emotional bond. But one that feels so natural, noone really is talking much about it. It is simply what it is. Interesting nevertheless.

Yes Cerdiwen we have all personal planets except the moon in 12th house. A total of 5 planets in there and we have had an overall stable relationship. We are on a "break" currently, but we're still living together and consider ourselves best friends. Been living together for 7 years now (we're not 30 either, lol) and the relationship did begin as soon as we met. It did feel like we were picking up right where we left off. Soo weird...lol... Just wanted to add something that I have been thinking about due to the fact that my composite with my children's father is 12th house heavy.With neptune in the first house conjunct the ascendant makes me feel that one of the two people will have problems with the other's family member (especially a parental figure). Can anyone confirm this? Also, come to think of it the 12th house is like a blank canvas. You paint your own picture and destiny . That's just what I feel due to this 12th house experience. None of the negative definitions (lies, secrets, enemies, hidden enemies, self undoing) really applied to my relationship. The only thing that did/does is the fact that there is a lot of sacrifice and hard work involved. One of the two will have to "carry" the relationship in a sense.
