Just interested in everyone's opinion. I've been reading a lot about the elemental affects on certain card combinations, which inevitably led me to timing and tarot. I've read where majors are months, that it's dictated by the elements (Fire is Aries/Leo/Sag months, etc.), that it's based on the number on the card... I've never really tried to ask a specific date with my readings, or if I have, I always get cards that seem to speak more to a querent's life event or state of mind than a specific time. One question I asked personally (and have received repeatedly) is whenever the event in question occurs it will be centered around the Chariot. So many wildly varying opinions. The card is ruled by water so... check water dates. The card is a 7, so it will happen in July... Just curious what the consensus here is. I'm really resistant to using tarot as a predictive medium. I prefer to use it as an advice forum. So this is all very interesting and new to me. IP: Logged |

HiIMO you should find one method which makes sense to you & then stick to that. When I bought my deck I came across this & it has been my guidance for time frames since then. Its usually a hit & miss though but it worked many times. link: http://taroteon.com/tarot-tutorial/tarot-tutorial-timing-and-predicting-events-with-astrology-tarot-reading/ Besides that for short term readings, e.g within weeks & days I set intention e.g in how many days will I get call from x & then start pulling from top of deck all minor & court cards as one day until a Major card is reached e.g I pulled 2 of pentacles, king of cups, four of wands & death. so it means 3 days. & this method has worked more accurately in short term (days & weeks) than months. But then again, if it works for me doesn't mean it will work for you. I guess we should make up our mind, practice, find what works & then stick to it. Good luck. ------------------

that pull method is interesting... i like it. how often does it work for you and why do you go for the majors? is that because they're indicative of something outside of your control?

It has worked like 7 out of 10 times. I keep a journal so I can see for myself later. yes the Majors mainly because there is nothing you can do. if Major arcana is the first card I pull, it means "ask later" or "not meant to be known yet"...------------------
