I think its a mix...if you think about it you really could be with anyone. Still, it does seem like some people are really right for each other and have an amazing connection. I guess I think we all have a handful of people that are meant to be in our lives but what we choose to do with those people (and what they choose to do in return) determines the plenty of fish or the one scenario.

^ This.

So I will soon find myself having to choose between 3 possible paths. One is emotionally difficult but we're soulmates. The other one is on another continent but we're also soulmates. And the third.. I haven't met him yet

This excerpt from iQ is very interesting:

Any one with whom there has been a past life sexual encounter can play the role of a Soul Mate. There are different kinds: Karmic Soul Mates, True Love Soul Mates [Highest form of this is "Twin Flame"], Evolutionary Soul Mates [for lessons] and Family Soul Mates [they play roles of blood relations].

Agree w everyone who says there is a handful

The downside is that I keep being paranoid about the wrong people being my soulmates. I would prob die if I found out I have a karmic connection with someone who is just..... not me. I keep imagining having to learn karmic lessons with loathsome horrible people, uncool, with too much earth energy/a stamp of solitude on the face/venus saturn sh1t/whatever and cringe. Then I say prayers asking to never have to deal with this

A short sharp shrift may be preferable to a long drawn out semi-misery. The loathsomeness is probably part of the lesson - may lead to your release from the bond.

If you keep shopping around, your feet (and something else) will soon get tired, and then you'll feel disincentivized to continue shopping. Watch out for those (emotional) blisters after a while.

There was a time in my life when I became indifferent to women altogether (no, I'm soundly heterosexual) and became disinterested altogether from shopping fatigue. After a while, you even become desensitized to the bed hopping and feel indifferent.

But most of all, I hated having broken hearts and, at one juncture, no longer wanted any relationships.

"Why" is your "thread still" here "?"
Mainly:
Because it seemed to be about wanting romance advice or a reading.
It was closed because you began writing like you are stoned or drunk again, and I wanted advice from Randall before things got out of hand.
I closed it until I got hold of him.
Sand/Pergrine; and whatever other user names you use here;
I have observed that you often when you start
writing like you are drunk or whatever;
that soon after the thread will disintegrate into drunk like blithering; and
it will become an exercise in pushing the envelope
and breaking the rules here at LL.
Behave yourself and stop it with the drunken looking yammer;
and remember that only one user name to post with is allowed.
Want to hate me;
go ahead.
I am only trying to do my best at moderating;
and you under different names have been trouble.

this is highly irrational.

"some people believe there are plenty of fish in the sea. (it is a saying.) some people believe they have one soulmate in this life and others. he/ she is out there. what do you believe in?"

some people don't post from home and do not have the time to check grammar or a thesarus which u have so kindly done in the past.

surely before weighing in on a decision one uses critical thinking abilities no? is he drunk? is he stoned? is it even against the rules to post "like" a drunken cannabis smoker? is this thread supposed to be here in sweet peas? or is this stoner asking for a reading? should i move the thread to PR?

your reasoning is fallacious in form particularly that of an ad hominem.

An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an argument made personally against an opponent instead of against their argument.[2] Ad hominem reasoning is normally described as an informal fallacy,[3][4][5] more precisely an irrelevance.[6]

you boast of superior iq so i am sure you will understand my drunken gibberish.

and i do not hate you. i am just calling out a slight lapse in judgment. i forgive you.

ps you may decide to erase this post further and cloud it with water-y reasoning. but if u do. my mind has won. funny i am an air void. oh yeah aries merc in aquarius duad. this drunken stoner actually aced college law.

pps that statement would also probably also fall under libel. i suppose i don't need a dictionary to point it out to you now do i?

Folks, Sandie here is a ton sharper than he purports to be. His intelligence is through the roof.

read this in that "i keel you" skeleton voice. cracked me up.

as for your query, i think the notion of "the one" is gibberish but i was raised with that belief for a long time. it wasn't only 'til recently i rejected it. having a "one" to me stems from religious backgrounds rather than actual experiences. sure, people call their husbands or wives their "ones" because their happy with them, and i'm glad they're happy, but without having been with every single person in the world - how do you know who your "one" is? it's more a decision or projection than a fact.

i find it hard to connect with the opposite sex for a long period of time (physically and emotionally) and am pretty sure i don't have a "one." i think i'm just a difficult person to get along with and am looking for someone who understands and can tolerate that.

Plenty of fish in the sea....but maybe only one is the best for you...the term "soul mate" is a bit too intense, especially if you don't believe in reincarnation.
