Morning everyone.Seeing Randall kindly gave me the opportunity to be one of the moderators here in Personal Readings, there's something I'd like to ask A few of us were talking last night and basically I got an idea to move general card meanings discussions to Through the Looking Glass. The obvious contra is that TTLG is super slow and few people check it at all. However, the way things are, topics on card meanings get lost among innumerable requests. I'm just creating this thread to collect opinions. I do understand that the first impulse is to post here because many more people are likely to hang out here, but maybe gradually over time, just theoretically, if we started moving topics on card meanings to TTLG this would allow us to have a discussion platform similar to Astrology 2.0 - whoever checks it retains something useful. That board could be revived and get more dynamic. Wouldn't this be awesome? ANyway, please reply to this thread to answer the Q: should they stay or should they go? [Perhaps I'd move some of the existing ones over there and if new ones appear move those too. Plus - what's to be done with help with interp ones] Thanks for your input xx IP: Logged |

That's where I originally assumed they should be, but I think if it's a personal reading that one did for self, that the topic relates to here.If it's an objective study of a card or its placement with no relation to a personal reading that one has done, then it should probably be moved to Through The Looking Glass. I don`t find things to be so clear cut.Often the qustion about the meaning of a card (or different possibilities of reading it) arises in a specific reading, hence the whole spread and surrounding cards would probably be important to consider for the meaning of the card. STill I think the rightful forum would be "Through the looking glass".
And yes, it is slow, whcih is why I posted my thread here in Personal readings, cause I knew certain people would see it here. However, since we have a forum for tarot, the tarot interested might have a glance over there now and then, and I would welcome it if we could discuss meanings of tarot cards over there. So I`d say let`s move the topics, and see if the forum will take flight. If not we might have to think again. IP: Logged |

Good idea to move it, as this part of the forum is swamped with card reading request, the odd Horary gets lost , you need to go a lot of posts before you see it, especially if you are not on the forum regularly.IP: Logged |

It is just the general discussions about the card meanings that would get moved. But I agree with you sometimes I wished there were different subsections here, so we could have an easier overview. IP: Logged |

This is actually perfect because I was just thinking about where I should ask a question about tarot timing. I'm not actually looking for a personal reading but rather discussing how people relate certain cards to timing, if they agree with other knowledgeable tarot experts or if they have had different results with certain cards. I will post that there and hopefully people will respond. I'm posting all of this to give a big thumbs up to your idea and I think it would be useful to have tarot discussion in Through The Looking Glass! IP: Logged |
