I think it points out that you're barking at the wrong tree here & I think it's asking you to reconsider why you would ask that question?

Literally: "Move away from that idea/you are drawing hasty conclusions (knight wands + 8 wands (also = messages)) & it is wiser to look at this from a different perspective/angle (Hanged Man)".

Also notice that none of the cards you ended up with are reversed.
Knight of wands is a non-commitment type, but no 'abuser'.
Unless the actual question was: is mister X just using her for sex?

Doesn't look like it to me either.

Knight of Wands is pretty uninhibited/not traumatised, as for the other two it really depends on the context, I'm pretty sure they are somehow related to the querent's life and personality.

And welcome to LindaLand, by the way!

PS On second thoughts, the story I can see here is an affair with a passionate person that led to a certain standstill, but I am not sure to what extent it applies, not knowing a shred of context

hihi, thanks for the replies. and thank you, i have been a lurker here for quite a while but i never managed to post here. (-:

the querent is a young girl and there is a much older man pursuing her like crazy, to the point of touching and other inappropriate things.

the question (from her) was precisely if the man would try tosexually assault her
thanks in advance again.

Ah!! So in this case I can see lust and passion on is part, BUT I'd suspect he wants her to have feelings for him and he'll probably leave her alone as soon as it transpires that she can't relate to him in an emotional way. I can't see rape/any act of forcing her into anything for the sake of merely satisfying lust. He wants to be loved romantically, and will prob step down. Well, unless she finds herself in love with him for some reason or other.

I do think it's wise to tell this girl to tell the guy clearly she has no interest & he is annoying her, so she wants him to stand back. Best start learning to say 'no' as soon as possible. If she's not doing that, he seems to still feel 'invited' to the (annoying) touching.
Edit: which deck did you use?

Rider-Waite.

I believe you and andstuffl, its amazes me because he has looked at her naked before without her consent and didn't go away when she told him to. But every pervert has his morals, eh??

It's weird to turn down an offer that was never made in the first place, I'd speculate.

She could act cold and unresponsive perhaps, yes, but seeing he never made her any verbal advances??? I doubt it's a good idea. Invitations to dates should be declined at length until they stop....

much older men really long to be loved, more so than our peers. i didn't know it was that bad. can't she just avoid him, hey? seems like the easiest solution.

Thanks.
I still think the setting clear boundaries will be important. As loud & clear as possible. Hanged Man can also represent a 'victim role', but remember it's a role, so she needs to stand up for herself. Especially after that last bit of information.
Anyone in her surroundings that she can inform of this/help her to be assertive?
The guy sounds like a complete d*ck.

Edit: I think the guy thinks that she actually enjoys this & it's part of the 'chase'.

Well, you guys can try to pull some cards yourselves. Raider-Waite has a limited imagery . And she's a close friend of mine anyway. :-)

Rider is exhaustive in terms of symbolism, don't worry. FEw decks are this comprehensive

i saw the knight wands with 8 wands as being quite forceful (have experienced this with a knight wands~so it resonates)

for some reason i got *hiding* with the hanged man ~ or even resignation that he had got what he wanted

i think there could be a possibility of there being some mistreatment here

Wasn't thinking about the getting 'high' (Neptune).
But 'hanging someone'=possibly victimising.
In RW the Hanged Man is choosing to be hanged though, which makes me think she can actively speak up to him. It may be, she is normally just 'being nice/polite' (as you are when young).
Take advantage was also something I thought of.

I though the first question was: is the querant sexually abused?
But since it was a different question, you can see the knight + 8 wands being in lust & at least try to take advantage (altough I think he doesn't see it that way. Possibly from the deluded school: she is saying no, but means yes).

^ yeah i thought the Q was about the past as well somehow, or at least a fact as opposed to possibility

Hanged by choice? Interesting. So she might be punishing herself for something through self-loathing instead of dealing with the situation point blank?

Sorry, I don't mean to be neither here nor there, but since I didn't lay these out I just keep getting ideas rather than get the feel.

It's in the leg he is hanged on. I find it really interesting. I noticed the difference when I was reading with a deck which has the man hanged by his other leg (which meant someone put him in that position). With RW we put ourselves in that position though, which means it should be actively addressed.

Edit: "So she might be punishing herself for something through self-loathing instead of dealing with the situation point blank?" --> not on purpose, but it can be scary to say something/act out. Especially when you are young. It's an inactive card. Doesn't mean it has to with self-loathing at all. Just that you haven't learned how to stand in your own power for example.
Edit part 2 (this is why I should not open threads, I just keep thinking about the card): it's also a card of 'being surrendered'.
@yemanja: so tell your friend to actively address that. Not wait & see (& will he possibly... That's already a 'surrendering approach') He needs to be called out & stop this.

Pulled some of my own cards too which shows the 5 swords as advice. Underlining the importance of taking the right in her own hands.

@andstuff: I assumed the same as you did. That it was a question of the past. And those would have been the answers...
But since it isn't, I think she just has to take care & stand up for herself.

This is only my feeling. I could be totally off though.

This old man might try to find ways to spy on her.

I don't use RW, am not familiar with the image of the hanged man. However I do get this card often with relation to sexual fantasies/sexual fascination.Your spread could well be indicating sexual 'misconduct' that could urge the person to act on it in a distant future.
