So I focused on trying to figure out what went wrong and if there was a chance of reconciliation. In some odd way I don't think he wanted to give up his freedom and you would have taken up more effort than he was willing to put it. The 2 of swords tell me there's a block there almost on purpose out of fear for whatever reason. I think he has his mind focused elsewhere, maybe career or school where he is attempting to reach a goal and relationships aren't a focus right now. He likes the romance and the closeness but with the knight of cups and rods he's not there to stay. Love them and leave them. He may try to come back in your life but by then I think your emotions would have cooled and you'd be more cautious, or at least should be.

I think there is real fear of intimacy and being tied down here on his end. That he sees it as some time of constriction to his freedom of choice and doing what he wants. He may be aware of this on some level but it may also be because he wasn't shown much affection when he was young or was taught to be judged just on his achievements in life (status in society and money). I don't like the feel of this...something feels off...as if it's some type of game to him... Maybe I'm wrong but seeing as the last card is knight of rods, if he does come back into your life it won't be for long and mostly likely for a hookup.
