He is one of my guy friends and he keeps telling me we're going to be together. For years I've been telling him i only see him as a friend but when i say that he gets an attitude and stops talking to me for awhile. We end up talking again and he starts back up about us being together and gets upset when im dating other guys.
What in our synastry could be causing him to like me while i do not feel the same?

This is just how I see it – hopefully others will come along and add their insights for you. It looks like you guys were born close to one another and that’s why so many of the planets/placements share the same sign. You do have your angles close (but not conjunct) and the proximity of the ASC signs would definitely lead you both to find one another visually likeable and similar to your own self. I’m not surprised by the friendship based on the shared ASC and signs, and I think you are right, it’s a friendship. You’d have to look more at his own natal, but I think what’s happening here (because the synastry isn’t great) is that his cancer mars coupled with the pisces venus, virgo moon, and cap sun are all slow and thoughtful signs, and not concerned with doing things quickly. A pisces venus, in particular, likes to dream about things and fantasize more than they actually like to act. So, if pressed by you to actually man up and do something (like kiss you, ask you out, make an overt move, etc) he might not even do it, lol. It could all be Piscean fantasy that he’s weaved for himself. And your own placements, especially that venus aries would probably prefer a more forward/aggressive/unique guy – his mars/venus just don’t blend well with you overall. I think it’s just his own thoughts/fantasies and the comfort of your friendship is allowing him to voice some of that with confidence, which he might not have oodles of. The not talking to you when you're dating others or rejecting advances is likely the cancer mars reacting, or the Piscean energy just hoping you'll feel sorry for him a bit if he's sad.
