First of all, happy birthday.

This breakup just happened out of the blue didn't it? kind of took you by surprise. Is he with someone else? Did someone else come between you two?
Either way it looks like it is over for good. I think you will become more independent as a person as a result of this break up.

Thanks. Yes, it did catch me off guard a bit. I though we were exclusive but he did not, even after 5 months of dating.
