I haven't read for many people, and usually I'm better with those I've had some prior connection, so take this with a grain of salt, okay?

He seems to be a bright, smart and energetic guy. Seems to have that likable factor that popular people have.

Did you meet him on the internet? Or do you talk mostly by eletronic means? I don't think there's anything fishy here, other than him not giving you the ammount of attention that you expect from him.

He seems busy overcoming some personal disappointments. Did he break up with someone recently? I think he's still holding on to the loss of that person in his daily life. Also, he seems confused about what to do now, and how to go forward with his life. I think he's feeling very vulnerable right now and, like most men, he's covering that side of him and putting up a wall, so no one can see his hurt.

Ouch, I think he was cheated on by his last girlfriend, so he's not very interested in a relationship right now. Might be up for a rebound, but not for the real thing yet. He's licking his wounds and trying to heal. You're not going to see him do it, though. Unless you confront him, and even then, he might not tell you what's going on with him.
