Ok, what I'm getting is that he's single, but for some reason cannot let go of a past relationship of his. It looks like a long-term one, by the way. Similar to a marriage. So he doesn't seem to be too active in the dating scene due to that.

I do see that he has fun though and there is a playful vibe/back and forth between you two in general - he likes your company and he's enjoying how things are in his romantic/love life right now, but this doesn't mean that he doesn't like you. It's just that he's not yet over that background relationship that I mentioned above (the long-term one).

It looks like unfortunately there's another person in M's life, or in yours (or both). I just see also some sort of disturbing/unhealthy and obsessive attraction as well in general. I hate to overdo the feedback but, yes, he is recently divorced. In fact, just yesterday (well, Saturday) he and his ex-wife signed an assumption, a legal agreement stating that she is no longer listed on the title of the house. She is still around him (they live in neighboring towns) and they are friendly but he says that there is no chance for reconciliation. He was correct in pointing out that he did not simply "break up" with someone, it is not something that one wakes up and decides, and that he is legally divorced and is no longer in love with or wants to be with this person.

I don't know what she is feeling though...

The unhealthy obsessiveness. We (M and myself) are both pretty clingy, even though we haven't met. I told him just tonight that we started talking on the phone on December 9th and we have talked everyday since then! We haven't been getting enough sleep because of it and I feel that I am not doing my best work because my mind (and text messages) are always on him...

The reason that I ask is that scenario almost describes a current situation with an ex. The difference is that I don't want to reconcile as he was terribly unfaithful. But, we have gone back and forth, but, I really want to move forwardss and hopefully find someone new. I have often felt like running away from the relationship.
