Ask you superintendent to check it out. Don't do it yourself if you are not comfortable with it.

I'm subletting this apartment as I've just moved here and have no idea who the super is or how to contact them. The person I'm subletting from is out of the country and didn't leave any contact info

are you sure its not from the wind?

but when you sublet, did you have to sign a lease agreement? The management phone number should be on there if not look in the building most of the time on there, and I guess if not then ask the people who live there

Hi Spiritual,

It could be a bug. I had something making what sounded like a scratching noise and thought it was something big in the vent behind my dryer. It turned out to be a good size roach. I guess they can come in from the top. It scared me, though, because I thought something else would run out if I opened, so I had help.

Thank you all for your input! I'll ask one of my neighbours how to contact maintenance (although never really run into anyone) if the sound continues..hopefully it's nothing.

@Cherful: No, didn't sign a lease...it was all done online of a 3rd party site.
