Is this event important? MY first gut feeling is you should go, but it seems you have intense dislike somehow. So I would give you what I get if you go or if you don't go, and see if these resonates:

If you go: It wouldn't be great, but it's not as bad as you think. You will go home feeling annoyed, but the fact you showed up will lessen tension in the future but not by much. There will be some annoyances, I see a few remarks, but if you kept your poise, you will come out fine with tension lessening for the future.

If you don't go, you will feel some guilt (not sure) and it will deepen the negative emotions within you, and theirs.

So the answer depends on why the intense dislike, and how important is the relation between you and them for your future. If it's not that important, I suggest do not go, but if it is, go and endure it. It's a test of your strength, in a way

Your read is accurate, I grew up going to church but a few years ago, my outlook sort of changed and it's something that I have trouble telling my mom. Religion is important in her culture (she is filipina) and I grew up the north american way...I have a different sort of mentality. I always get pressured to go from the people in there, they are all wondering why I haven't been and I just don't want to tell them that I don't believe anymore...Anyways I think I'll go so they'll leave me alone. The whole family day is an even they do once a year to invite non going family members to the church, but I never liked going there because I was always alone in my corner.

My advice: Go for this one, but meanwhile think deeply on what you want. If you finally decide that "I can no longer go because this conflicts with my principles fiercely." then you can cease the activity, but if it's not too much of a big deal to you, you could always go

My first gut feeling say no, not this year...

But do not take this as a negative thing. You see, we are already in the 6th month of the year, so only 6 months left :P

But I will elaborate. What I saw as the answer for your questions is like a solid bar of timeline, and it has darker spots on few of the areas. But none of these darker spots says anything about love.

May I ask, are you more of an introvert? Or, are you the type that does not socialize often, a bit of a homebody? Because this might be the reason why I feel there is no prospectives in your future for this year.

I also see Sun Square Saturn in your chart...I read that this is a difficult aspect in ones natal chart. Did you face many obstacles or difficulties earlier in life?

Yes, I am more attracted to people after I get to know them as friends, but sadly they tend to friendzone me instead I like people who are actually shy/sensitive inside.

I did not enter relationship but I had MANY prospects... None of them turn into anything real or even physical (damnit), but it was full of interesting events and romance indeed

True. My 'family' is my friends, I don't have many of them (but i have countless acquaintances) but when they do they're quite transformative.

True, I have been doing charity work and I have been more outgoing, even became some sort of speaker, and I have worked more and more towards humanitarian causes.

I did not go. I felt guilt in the beginning but all turned out well, my mom was ok with it. I instead spent the day caching up with an old friend that I haven't seen in months and I'm glad I did, I felt like I made the right decision. I had an anxiety attack the night before and my gut feeling told me not to go.
