I asked what would happen in my love life and got the emperor. Does that mean the emperor is going to happen in my love life? A person? Or a situation? What does the emperor stand for. I know he is a man who head rules his heart and who is in a position of authority and usually older. But what else about him?IP: Logged |

The Emperor can mean a great many things depending on where he appears in a spread and what cards interact with him. Sometimes, he can stand for a specific man who is authoritative, in charge, or even domineering and oppressive (think a stern father). Other times, he can represent rules you are trying to follow yourself or sticking to your guns in terms of morals or even holding yourself back because of fear. Was this the only card you pulled? I personally don't read one cards unless it's for a daily meditation. Five cards is a good, low-level number spread to pull, because it can help you see the bigger picture, and the interpretations are easier to build given they play off each other. You can do three cards as well, but I have found that's still not enough context. IP: Logged |

Lexus,Just quick advice- if you ever are unsure, you can always pull a clarifying card. I like to pull at least three cards for readings, but you can certainly get a good tarot reading from just one card. Becca gave you good advice as well. Maybe try pulling another card to see what The Emperor means to you. IP: Logged |
