So excited that I got my 1st Lenormand deck. I plan on reading up on things a bit more this weekend and then maybe doing a few readings here for practice. Any helpful hints from seasoned readers? IP: Logged |

Congrats I wish I knew how to read as guidance, mainly. Interpreting cards seems a bit hard because it's so subjective. Good luck!

When doing lenormand readings. I personally think you might like to start with a 3 card Here is way I do a five card. The middle card is focus card of reading. Read three middle cards together Then middle and end cards together. Then the line of 5 If you need you can pull a clarify card as well. Watch the meanings of cards and those around them. As negative cards will affect a neutral card in a negative way. But positive will affect in a positive way. IP: Logged |

I am not seasoned! Got my cards the other week.My tip would be... Draw 3 cards initially. Understand them by reading the first two together (help from book) and then using the last one to support or further explain the first two. What you'll realise is that, you want to ask more questions and I usually do because the cards tend to prompt me to ask more questions. For example, someone says to me.. 'ikja, X isn't speaking to me... What's going to happen in our relationship?' If they give a timeframe, great. If not, I use 1 card to identify a time frame for me (look timings up). From here, I ask something like: how does X feel about Y? - draw 3 cards - if they are positive, then I naturally ask.. Okay, so what is holding X back? - draw 3 cards. Then I ask the actual question asked by Y. Usually, the cards drawn for the actual question, helps me to understand the actual answer that Y wanted to know. That style tends to work for me, and I quite like it because I ask the cards questions and it is up to me to figure out the answer (with basic interpretations) and then, know which questions to ask next. Probably doesn't help, but maybe it did lol x happy reading IP: Logged |

My tip is to do daily spreads for yourself and you'll see what works for you. I found that for me 5 card spreads are the best and when I do 3 I don't get the full pictures. Plus with daily spreads you'll see how the cards interpret your day which in turn help you interpret your cards later. IP: Logged |

Star, I was thinking of saying to start with 5 card. I am glad you mentioned it, I thought 3 might suffice for learning. As lenormand can be overwhelming with several cards. How do you read a 5 card ? IP: Logged |

I just found that when I did daily spread with 3 I would only get the picture for half the day.. and when I did the 5 cards it told me the whole day... I usually read the 5 card spread as a story - this is what will/is happening - middle card - this is what will happen later. Middle card shows what the focus is on. To get better information I do also see what the opposite cards say - so 1 - 2- 3- 4- 5 I read it as - 1+2+3 3+4+5 1+5 2+4 If that makes sense lol.
