As of now, no I dont see it come that fast, I see it be a long and winding road which can potentially lead to something better but now I still see bumps ahead. I feel like even if you get commitment it wont be "official" but only something that you "know" since its been going on for so long.
I dont see him go " you are my gf now" but it will be more something that just considered so because of the time spent together and both not seeing anyone else.
But right now I do see it take longer than you think it would and it could give you stress along the way and feelings of frustration.

I feel to say dont avoid him but I also feel you should protect your heart and dont be an open book, I feel like you should show him that he should make the effort and that you are worth it.
I do feel once you see significant effort, that you should do some aswell, but not be the one to carry all the effort, there needs to be balance.
I feel that he can be stubborn so be careful not to "jump" at any little crumb he throws at you, be more demanding so to say, dont be satisfied with only little crumbs
