Ok so was chatting with a male friend... We've always been quite flirty but I was teasing him about his hair and he said that he's due with a haircut and I joked back said that a haircut wouldn't help him. So he joked back with a 'well **** you then' and BEFORE I COULD THINK the words 'haha well we both know you want to' 😳😬😬😬

He got quiet for a second and kinda looked down.

I don't know why?

Like did he get quiet because he got embarrassed cause it's true?

Or did he get quiet cause he's not interested and felt awkward because it came off as if I was interested (I thought we were just flirty platonic.. Flirtings fun! But not when the other person goes quiet all of a sudden 😩

If it's cause the second reason then cool I'll back off I
don't want to make him uncomfortable of course!

Just don't know what was going through his head then!

Ahhhhh

Please help!

And leave me your question for an exchange!

Not an exchange. But just general thoughts as a guy.

There are many potential scenarios. But let's go with you and him being super flirty always. When you said, we both know you want to... he could have interpreted that in a few ways.

1. He was genuinely dumbstruck. And didn't know what the best come back would have been.

2. When you say we know YOU want to.... that almost suggests that you know he wants you, but you haven't given him the go (for whatever reason). And you did mention that you're headed in the platonic direction. In which case, the tease drives guys nuts. And flirtings fun, but he probably stopped because he might actually have some feelings for you. If he didn't value the situation much, he might have said something snappy back to get a reaction out of you (like i dunno... keep dreaming or Can i help you get to where i am?).

3. There's always the possibility that he might not be interested. But to figure that out, it depends on what you want. Do you want him to make a move? If you don't really want him to, then you can let this situation be. But if you want him to, then you could say something that could get him into a comfortable position to do it. Like, "hey you wanna grab a drink sometime?" If he says no... then you know your answer. Not much lost in that scenario.

Just early morning thoughts. For fun. Not sure if helpful haha. (dont quote me so i can remove it if it isnt)

I'm just getting 'HOLY #&@*' His thoughts were scrambled after that for about an hour. Now he's just rationalised that you were just joking and did not want to have sex with him because there was no advances on your part. Things should be back to normal, but you'll have to watch your words.

I threw an I ching for you. No need to exchange.

I think everything will be fine. Good luck; he sounds like a good guy!

33. Withdrawal

Withdrawal.
Progressing.
Little benefit in persisting.

Withdrawing from a situation. This is progress. There is little need to keep withdrawn.

(No changing lines.)
