Hey guys, I've been kind of MIA on here because I am in kind of a rut. I would say this is sort of a transition phase in my life, and really it has become unbelievably frustrating and discouraging. I am behind my peers in almost all aspects of life, which is making my frustration and disappointment grow more over time.

I've lost a lot of enthusiasm for my career, and have to wonder if I should change paths, because my real dream career has always been related to creative writing in some avenue. I'm tired of the lack of success as well. Even creative writing, which was supposed to be a fun thing, has turned out to be burdensome because no appreciates or respects my work.

I guess I just want a general life reading for the next couple of months, or even an advice reading that will give some encouragement because I'm tired of everything being disappointing or limiting in some way.

"Argue for your limitations and sure enough they're yours."
-Richard Back

I don't believe there are limitations on life except on extreme situations such as if you're a poverty stricken individual in a war torn or third world country or gravely ill. If you focus on all the areas in your life that aren't to your satisfaction and compare yourself to others, you will no doubt feel like an incompetent failure. Focus on what's good about your life and what you have going for you. If you don't like something, work harder to change it. Oprah Winfrey came from poverty and sexual abuse, worked exceptionally hard and didn't acknowledge any so-called "limitations" and look at her now! Limitations and simply "just not getting ahead" despite hard work are negative thinking and imply you aren't willing to work harder for what you want because "things never happen despite my hard work" (an all too convenient excuse). It's all in the mind. The woe is me attitude is conducive to nothing but making yourself feel low--which studies show will make you less motivated and maybe that's the root of your problem. Maybe your peers struggle too but don't have a negative attitude/mindset and it helps want to keep striving and that's what helps hem get ahead? Ask them for some advice, ask them if they have any tips--there's nothing wrong with getting ideas sometimes. A negative mind will make you less motivated, stop being so pessimistic. It's mind over matter. A negative way of thinking has never produced good results. We get what we deserve in life as far as success and satisfaction are concerned because we get out what we put in.

I'm not with my cards at the moment so I can't offer an actual reading, but in my personal opinion a reading wouldn't make a difference anyway. One of my favorite quotes is "insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." Doesn't matter what the cards say, if you're unhappy with your life right now but aren't attempting to change what doesn't work and instead figure out what does, then nothing will change. Time itself won't change anything.I could go on, but why? Normally when someone has it set in their mind that they're doing everything they can and getting no where and everyone around them is living so much better they become too stubborn and don't want to listen to advice because they've convinced themselves they're right. So I'll leave you with this: you may work hard but how do you know that your peers are as well off as you think they are and how do you know their method of hard (or even possibly 'harder') work isn't simply more effective? Complaining about things not going well won't make them go well but changing your approach to things might. Find out instead what you want to change and figure out exactly what you want out of life then do it.

Best wishes.

I do not claim any truth or validity to this layout and could be wrong as well.

1: core issue
HAGALAZ -C The Rune of Disruption:
There are challenges in your life that are painful. Please keep in mind that those are here for you, to make you a better person.

2: something you did to bring the situation about
THURISAZ -C The Rune of Chaos, Evil and Temptation:
You were surrounded by people that appeared good, but had other intentions.

3: your beliefs, impressions, or expectations
ALGIZ -R The Rune of Protection and Opportunity
You think that you are not protected in your current situation.

4: outcome
PERTH - The Rune of Chance, Mystery and Science
In the current situation the outcome is unkown.

5: past encounters from which you have learned something important
SOWILO - The Rune of Energy and Revelation
OTHILA –R;C The Rune of Family, Home & Acquisition
You have already revealed a heritage of yours that you can count on.

6: challenge of the present situation
ISA - The Ice Rune
It may be a challenge to do nothing, but meditate, think and reaffirm your opportunities. Things will change surely as winter changes to spring and summer.

7: how your knowledge will evolve
URUZ - The Rune of Strength
As soon as you mastered you own ego you will succeed.

My opinion on the layout:
I wanted to do a Hagall spread, because I like it with that kind of situation. The runes fell down like a flower that is here, yet not seen. As the runes did not give me any hint on a person that might help you, I assume that this journey will be a personal one and the only thing I can do is to give you a little clarity on the current situation.
