The King of Diamonds, and kings in general are a symbol for "maturity". Traditionally, this was seen as a "man over 30-35" but I think many 30 year olds, men and women, could have the mind of a 12y old and can hardly be seen as mature.I would say this is mostly about psychological maturity than a certain age, many people are very mature in their thinking or ways, even as teenagers. ------------------
