How does E feel about his ex J?

I get the impression that E felt deeply for J, but these feelings exposed him to a lot torment (mentally and emotionally). Perhaps they were quite an explosive pair - always fighting; or perhaps she cheated on him and/or made him feel less than he wanted.
I get the impression that he is working to put the negativity that this relationship caused him behind him. I think he is trying to start over again emotionally and is also trying to make the best of the situation. I'm not too sure if he has children from that relationship, but I get the impression that he is just trying to muddle through and make the best of that "burden".

Why doesn't he want to introduce you?

I think the issue is the result of trust. Perhaps he is nervous that you may not respect the boundaries/structure/agreement that they have put in place to manage their affairs. He doesn't know how you will respond to that situation and/or whether you have the best intentions?

Is he going to introduce you to his daughter? I got mice, anchor and child. It causes him a bit of anxiety to think about it right now but yes he is going to, it just won't be as soon as you'd like. Be patient

I got cross, mice, mountain, bear and man. Ok I do see the pain, heartache and obstacles but these are things he's dealing with now and will be ending over the next few weeks. The bear can be personal finance so I think all of this stuff is with his financial situation and the strain it is putting on the 2 of you. But like I said, I see it ending for him in the next few weeks. I pulled one more card for clarification and got fox which is about job.
