Swords are air in element and I take that into consideration when it comes to readings. They are like the "spades" of the Tarot, so often they do not indicate positive feelings, or feelings at all.

Past - 9 Swords: In the past this person felt anxious and/or worried in regards to thoughts about the querent, but to me this isn't positive at all, and/or it's an indication that there weren't romantic feelings from this person towards the querent in the past.

Present - World: Are you two on speaking terms still? This person may feel like there's a lack of closure between each other..kind of feeling like things aren't fully done or over (friendship, etc).

Future - 2 Swords: Indecisive and stuck. To be honest with you, if the question was about romance this person won't really feel too romantic/positive towards the querent in the future either Sorry. When they think about the person they will try to block them off due to their indecisive nature (either the querent, or person in question).

Thanks so much for taking the time..

You are so right about the 'no closure', and the indecisiveness and the being stuck...just about everything.

The background is, that i didn't want to bug anyone on here to give me a reading, since I can't exchange - so I went to one of those online shuffling programs (not sure how valid those are) for a 3-card reading. The first time round (not in context of time), I got the Star, the Empress & the Devil.. I wanted a 3 card reading so I could piece the meaning together based on qualifiers, but had no idea how to do that. So I shuffled again, thinking "past, present, future". And this showed up! Had an uneasy feeling from the beginning, and now I was more confused.

At the end of the day, I did have to come here and ask folks 'coz I didn't know how to interpret those either.

What you said rings true to me. Initially, he seemed nice and interested - but would withdraw all of a sudden. (Weirdly, a lot of ppl do that to me. Must be something I'm putting *out there*). Out of curiosity, I wondered what it was all about.
