I was trying to clarify snake but both stork and woman came up

Yes I think he was thinking of you on repeated occasions in the past hour but it wasn't constant thoughts, seems other things were distracting him too. Perhaps he was thinking about things that are changing.

What were there thoughts?

2 wands, judgement, 6 of pents, the sun, 3 wands

clarified by justice, the empress, the hermit

First thing than came to mind was interacting, perhaps deciding on whether to reach out or not. The sun being clarified by the hermit makes me think of someone reflecting on nice times/things, and as the hermit is shining the torch on the empress it makes me things nice times/things about here. Some see the 3 wands as longing, so maybe there is a longing involved, perhaps a longing for the positive things they are reflecting on but perhaps also the possible directions that lie ahead.

Does any of this resonate?

I don't know what it was he said but with scythe and child and the following cards it was something rather new and unexpected but pleasant? To answer your question yes he did say what you think he said.

Of course it has to be seen in context.
And the other part of "We" (as in his friend I suppose) had already left at that point.

Of course he just said it because, after saying goodnight I forogt to stop watching (hey they said it ended, so I said goodnight, and his friend left, but he kept on talking, so I kept on listening, until he addressed me directly pointing out that I was being much too late, as they were done already - with the video (though he was STILL talking)- then cleared his throat and added: "We love you, too."

LOL

ANd you can BET this was a surprise.
