Yes I feel he is a soulmate of sorts and I'm here to teach him to navigate the same hurdles I faced at his age.As for what he's here to teach me I'm not sure.

Yes you're right.The romantic part is on my end for i have this bad habit of wanting to be with someone romanticly when i feel a strong connection.Took me a while to realize that while the other person may also feel the same connection,they express it in different ways ie through friendship or through loving me as a bigger sister etc...With him i had forgotten this lesson.Fortunately i remembered it soon after this reading you gave.

So I wanted to say that something is not balance between you two, one can invest a lot in this relationship and the other little or one can love romantic and the other is in friendship: so balances Are different. OR you both want to give as much but there is always one person who gives more than the other and the second person may feel in trouble with this feeling of doing less and therefore may need that the situation be more balanced to be Comfortable with the other person.
Does it make sense to you?

That means :
1) You are well together and then time passes and you realize that the relationship is not so interesting and challenging, that this relationship makes you go up and down emotionally.
OR
2) You have to leave a person with whom you do not feel well (boredom) before meeting that person (your friend) and now you start a new interesting relationship for you.

Yes this does makes sense.I feel i'm more emotionally invested than he is yet i feel he's more controlling over me than i am towards him.I don't know how emotionally invested is he because what i can see is how controlling he is over me.

Option 1 makes more sense i think for i wasn't in a relationship for a very long time before meeting my friend so option two seems unlikely.
