hey girl, sorry for the delay. but i see him having sort of fought the urge to reach out to you for quite some time. i feel he did it out of a sort of impulse. he wants to connect with you, he misses you, he thinks about you often. but what is covering those feelings is an anger and blame which is rooted in insecurity and immaturity. i get the feeling he wants to hear your voice to decode it and get some proof for himself whether you are thinking/missing him as he questions if you really are or not. i also get the feelings that at this point he would really love for you to just crumple for him and basically beg him to come back and take all the blame for any issues.
