I would say that he's going through a very powerful and fated time in his life now that requires much transformation, yet he's being rather stubborn and doesn't want to let go of the past. He's clinging on strongly to the concept of family, as well as old friends that no longer serve him. There's a saying called "let go, or be dragged" and he's allowing himself to be dragged because he no longer has control over situations like he used to, and this loss of personal power is disturbing for him. I'd say you keep getting Death for him because he's going through an ego death right now. Given the amount of positive cards, I don't think he's literally going to die, but psychologically it feels like this right now because he's not ready to move on to a new stage in his life (even though he has no choice in many respects)

Regarding your question if there will be a delay with your plans to hawaoi if you accept the investors

The cards I pulled don't show a delay or an obstacle. I see quick money, like a quick turn around if they invest. 10K investment is not a lot of money, so this may turn out quicker than you expect. I don't see obstacles or delay in the cards. But then again with the Book as the first card, there is still a lot of uncertainty and the deal may not go thru. But it shows luck with money nevertheless.

I want her to be in a situation where she is empowered to choose if she wants to go and is not forced. It really bothers me that he gets to ditch her, abandon her, and tramautize her and then he is allowed to FORCE her to go be with him when she hardly knows him!
