It can be (and often is) interpreted as a "stand-alone" chart, but is more helpful when used to identify the specific natal chart issues that will arise during the 12 months that the SR chart is "active".

For that reason ... I would not spend time analysing a solar return chart without also having access to its related natal chart.

Saturn is in Natal 8th, Progressed 7th and SR 5th.

The Solar Return Chart reveals what your natal Sun (ego) is working on in 2020/21 ... which is "adding the skills of Virgo to your (natural/instinctive) Leo interactions with strangers/Ascendant-contacts".

The Progressed Chart reveals how the behaviour (sign) and focus (house) of each natal planet is being modified from year to year.
