So, one of the reasons I started looking deeper into astrology is the fact that a majority of my horoscopes I've read didn't feel like they applied to me, and many of the traits associated with my sun sign (Capricorn) I don't feel very close to.

Most interpretations of Capricorns I see involve them being cold, ambitious, aloof, well-organized, achievers, go-getters, etc. While I definitely do have ambitions and goals and a desire to be respected and known (I am a writer and poet, and am slowly starting to realize some long-held goals of being published), I don't identify much with many other traditional Capricorn tendencies.

Any idea why this is? I have my chart attached in this message.

A couple other questions I'm wondering if my chart might have insight into :
- Why do I have such a hard time making decisions, plans, and sticking to them?
- I always seem to be full of doubt, anxiety and uncertainty/confusion about my life, actions, etc. Any ideas where this comes from, and what might be done about it?

A little about me if it helps at all: 32, male, gay, single (chronic singleness syndrome...not fun), introverted, but very loyal to my friends, very guarded, trouble "letting people in," very sensitive/emotional (cry easily especially at beautiful/moving things), depressed/poor self-image, yet for some reason people seem drawn to me and I'm not sure why.

Thanks for any and all insights you guys see in my chart!

The astrodienst image that you posted at https://www.astro.com/cgi/showgif.cgi?lang=e&gif=astro_2gw_anonymous.82497.37725.png&res=100 has expired ... so we cannot yet see your chart.

You need to upload the astrodienst image to an image hosting site (like http://imgbb.com ) and post the relevant link from there to this thread.

Welcome to the forum, SK.

What strikes me immediately about your chart is that Pluto-Chiron-Venus make a figure known as The Thor's Hammer; Pluto-Chiron-Venus make another Thor's Hammer and both are therefore sharing the Pluto-Chiron sesquisquare/135-degree aspect. ... So, Pluto-135-Chiron is likely to be a prominent player in how you instinctively/habitually behave.

However, the close conjunction of Neptune to your Sun in Capricorn/12th probably accounts for the doubt, anxiety and confusion that you experience. ... Moreover, the ruler of your chart + Capricorn Ascendant (Saturn in Sagittarius/11th) is closely "conjunct Uranus and opposite Chiron-in-Gemini/5th" - making you unlikely to identify with the cook-book behaviours of your Sun sign.

People are drawn to your Scorpio-Pluto (at the MC), because they sense that you have the ability to develop them. ... And also because your Saturn placement is indicative of a "thoroughly nice person to have as a friend". ... (So, I suspect Chiron in Gemini/5th may be the cause of your insecurities.)

Chiron in Gemini indicates a childhood-inflicted wound that made you doubt your ability to communicate/interact successfully with others in your immediate social circle - and its 5th house location may have caused you to become introverted (resulting in a focus on developing 5th house creative skills, rather than Gemini people skills.) ... Thus, it is possible that others perceive you as being "difficult to get to know, but well worth the effort involved in doing so".

The concerns you have about "letting people in" probably stem from whatever childhood event(s) inflicted your chiron wound. ... But you are an adult now, and reviewing that events (or those events) through adult eyes will reveal that you are ok, and most other people are also ok.

Wow, thanks for the insight! The interpretation of Chiron in Gemini seems to be spot on; I am a writer (journalist and poet), introverted, socially awkward and vastly prefer written communication over spoken (abhor getting unannounced visitors or unexpected phone calls), though I developed the ability to put on a "social persona" especially for work purposes (re: journalism). The truth is I DO enjoy people, but don't have a lot of energy to spend on "small talk." Was extremely shy and nervous as a child, much less so as an adult but it's still there--also had a terrible stutter (no longer).

I'd never heard of Thor's Hammer before, and I guess I didn't think that sesquiquadrate was a particularly notable aspect to pay attention to. Most of my attention has gone to my t-squares between Chiron-North Node-Saturn/Uranus conjunct, and between Venus-Pluto-Moon.

Reading a bit more about Thor's Hammer, I see interpretations that the sesquiquadrated planet should be used somehow to channel/relieve the energy/tension going on between the squared planets (in this case Venus and Pluto squared, with energy/tension somehow released/channeled through Chiron). Does that sound right or am I off-base?

Also looking further, now that I know about Thor's Hammer, it appears I might have another Hammer going on with Chiron-North Node-Pluto (or is it only planets/objects that count for a Thor's Hammer?)

Have you read the 3-part blog article at http://blog.virgovault.com/2011/04/16/astrology-aspects-how-the-sesquiquadra te-functions-part-two/ ?

The sesquisquare/sesquiquadrateis an 8th harmonic aspect ... which I interpret as "persisting with something beyond the point that others consider to be reasonable/rational". So, it provides an ability to persist (over a long period/lifetime) with learning about your own Thor's Hammer by monitoring the progressions/transits to it - and mindfully reviewing the events which are created by them.

For examples ... what happens when Venus makes its annual conjunctions with natal Pluto and Chiron? ... What happened when transit Pluto opposed natal Chiron, or/and when transit Saturn was conjunct natal Venus/Chiron/Pluto?

When you know (via those reviews) how your specific Thor's Hammer is manifesting, you will see the way to consciously-and-constructively harness it.

It differs slightly from an all-planet Thor's Hammer, because points (like angles and nodes) are inactive. So they are "windows" through which we interact with others - and thus provide us with an opportunity to learn from doing so. In your case, that learning will be about "Chiron-in-Gemini/5th sesquiquadrate Pluto-in-Scorpio/9th, and on MC". And completing that learning will help you to achieve your NN objective.

For example ... think of NN in Pisces/2nd as being a person that you meet/interact with when your natal Pluto-Chiron-NN triangle is activated by a progression or/and transit. ... He/she will display qualities, characteristics and behaviours which bring your Chiron wound/feelings/pain to the surface - and if you choose to confront that pain (rather than hide from it), Pluto will psychologically transform you ...via some kind of journey "to hell-and-back".
