Since some members are currently pondering upon how the 21st December 2020 conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn might affect them, now might be a good time to consider what astrologers mean by the statement that "nothing will happen to you that was not promised in your birth chart".

So, let's start by considering what is promised by Jupiter and Saturn in my natal chart, which is posted below :-

Saturn is in Virgo/11th, promising to be a nit-picking-perfectionist in group interactions. ... Jupiter is in Capricorn/4th, promising to adhere rigidly to family tradition ... And their shared trine aspect promises to seamlessly combine these two behavioural traits - to create the 'immovable object" personality promised by the Scorpio/2nd South Node, which is sextile both planets.

However, Uranus in Gemini/9th stands at the MC/"gateway to heaven" ... firmly opposing the "descent into hell" promised by Jupiter at the IC (and his Saturn+SN buddies). And Uranus is being helped by the cheerleading North Node in grounded Taurus + 8th house of feedback/other peoples values.

Thus, we have a Kite configuration that has Jupiter as its 'peak planet' (to which everything else is orientated). ... And the promise of that Kite is 'the outlook of Jupiter will change/expand in the current lifetime'.

So ... in my case, those 20-year periods between the conjunctions of transit Jupiter and transit Saturn have to relate to that Kite promise - although allowing me the freewill to decide whether Uranus+NN or Saturn+SN win the change-or-no-change battle :-

1961 to 1981 ... Age 12yrs 3months to 32yrs 8months ... secondary school -> development of professional career

1981 to 2000 ... Age 32yrs 8months to 51yrs 7months ... peak of professional career -> retirement -> full-time student of astrology

2000 - 2020 ... Age 51yrs 7months to 72yrs 1 month ... finally able to synthesise astrology charts -> participation on astrology forums.

When summarised like this, one wonders if Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions are "not worth getting excited about". ... But, if I had the time to unpack the individual events of all three of these jupiter-saturn cycles*, they would reveal a story which illustrates why (in SUN SIGNS) Linda Goodman's description of the Scorpio male concludes with "you'll see horizons with him the timid will never see."

However, in my opinion, all those that embrace the opportunities provided by the Jupiter-Saturn cycle will "see horizons that the timid will never see".

[ *For example, the 1961 conjunction made a semi-sextile to my natal Mars in Sagittarius/3rd, with an orb of only 21-arc-mins. ... And the 1961-81 cycle of Jupiter-Saturn was (for me) focused upon breaking down my Mars desire to "remain within my comfort zone - by following the footsteps of my father, his father and several previous generations of males in our family" ... So, as transit Saturn cycled through its first-square/opposition/second-square to my natal Mars, events transpired which made it increasingly difficult for me to remain within that comfort zone.]

Hi Graham!

Interesting thread. I'm thinking about my intercepted first house and Aquarius as I had asked you about earlier. It's as though I'm moving away from things I've experienced in the past--old ways of thinking including how I've looked at material things (my jup in cap) to a more freer expression of myself--jupiter/saturn now in Aquarius..like a shift. Astro.com shows an exact conjunction of transiting pluto to my natal Saturn today, but they then show the transit lasting until the 21st of Nov next year??? Does it still carry that much influence or is it showing that's when my work/career efforts will bear fruit? I'm also starting to make more headway into clearing out stuff I no longer need.

The transit of Saturn in Aqua to my natal Sun I'm told is me taking care of my mom. Not sure how Jupiter in Aqua is playing out here. Maybe it's showing that I'm protected.

I'm hoping to move this year as well and my 4th house cusp, venus in libra, will be trined by jupiter in aqua earlier in the year. Transiting Mars will start trining my natal pluto (in virgo, ruler of 10th) early next year, so I'm thinking all of this will work together to help me have more freedom. Does this sound right? I haven't had a lot of motivation on this right now with mars still squaring my natal jup in cap. I pulled myself up after the mars transit finished squaring my natal saturn a few days ago.

Your thoughts as always are greatly appreciated!

As for your chart, I think you will start to become more sociable and less picky about who you interact with...as transiting pluto continues to trine your ascendant...and you'll feel that your thoughts will not be so heavy...jup/sat trining your natal neptune..

I have your date and Universal Time of birth, but cannot draw the chart (containing the correct house-cusps for your place of birth) without knowing the (Placidus) Ascendant and MC degree+minutes locations.

Thank you Graham! It will be interesting to see what you see. I actually had a chart done (for a small price) in the late 70s or early 80s..still have it... promotion by the American federation of astrologers. I remember getting a call from them and the person who called said they were doing research. They only asked me one question : Is your time of birth correct? I said yes and asked.. ole cap response then.. Is there something wrong with it? They said no. If they asked me now, I would say okay and not thought about it. It's interesting how we grow over time.

Thank you again,
Spring

Your natal Saturn is at 24Capricorn01'38" ... On 26th December 2020, transit Pluto was at 24Capricorn00' - and it will be at 24Capricorn49' on 21st November 2021. ... So, Astro.com is expecting the latter to be the furthest point (from exact) at which a person of average astrological sensitivity will feel/be-aware-of that conjunction's influence. ... However, given your knowledge of astrology, your sensitivity will be "above average", So, you will feel the influence for a longer period (before and after the conjunction is exact). ... And the point at which this is no longer felt by you will be the maximum orb that you (or a person of your sensitivity) should use for transits of Pluto.

My own experience of Pluto indicates that its fruits appear some time after the point of exact orb has been reached. So, as transit Pluto moves away from an exact conjunction with your natal Saturn, the results (of whatever it has been working on) will become increasingly apparent/"visible". [This is seen most clearly in Mundane Astrology, where what Pluto uncovers as it passes through each sign tends to become visible whilst it is passing through the next sign.]

You have natal Uranus, Leo and Aquarius intercepted ... with Capricorn/Cancer duplicated on the cusps of 12th+1st/6th+7th , and Moon in that duplicated 6th house. (So, in its own sign and having two house cusps through which to express.)

In essence, this indicates an issue in the 6th+12th houses that is adversely affecting the 7th+1st houses ... in a way that (until resolved) will prevent you from making the best/most-effective use of the positive qualities of Uranus, Leo and Aquarius. ... And my guess is that powerful Moon will be at the root of the 6th+12th house issue.

By falling at Aquarius 1, the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of 21st December 2020 will indeed bring opportunities for you to resolve the issue(s) of your natal interceptions+duplications.

My guess is that the issue is "subjectivity vs objectivity" - with the duplications producing an over-emphasis of the former and the interceptions hindering the latter.

The conjunction of transit Jupiter and Saturn is highlighting the "over-strong" influence of the Moon in duplicated Cancer/6th house.

So ... might taking care of your mother be hindering the development of your Uranus, Leo, Aquarius individuality? ... And is that not likely to change during the next 20 years, since she will be ageing?

Yes, this does sound right. ... But bear in mind that this is the beginning of a 20 years long period of change, so the move might not come as quickly as you would like - because it will not happen until "the right place appears at the right time, and at the right price". ... However, that could also happen sooner rather than later - and it does seem as though the planets are now aligned positively for you.

Best wishes for your journey through the current Jupiter-Saturn cycle.

Thank you Graham!

Your info on the Pluto transit to my natal Saturn makes sense as I can see other transit like jupiter in aqua to my natal mercury finishing out later in the year. In late 2009 I moved and transiting jupiter was in its 3rd decanate of Aqua when I bought and then started moving in. Pluto may be my looking for stability as well.

I think the interceptions are about what it is I really need in my life and what is in need of being discarded.

My mother is 97 years old and sleeps more now. Her natal Venus is conjunct my natal Saturn and my natal venus is conjunct her natal Saturn. I'm thinking the karma that we shared is almost done. During my first Saturn return, my father became ill and needed help. My mother wanted to work longer and during the transit of Saturn in Aqua to my Sun after my Saturn return, I helped my father to get his health back and lose weight..earlier this year around the time that transiting saturn went into aqua, my mom moved into my home.

I gave it more thought after reading all that you saw in my chart and think that the jup/Sat in aqua transits will help me to decide on how much I want to take on versus receiving less and getting help from someone. i.e. Self-publishing versus full service...do I want to ship out the books or receive less and get help with that...all about balance..my mercury square jupiter..promising more than can be delivered or taking on too much and mercury square saturn--risk taking versus stagnating and taking a narrower point of view...thank you for the well wishes.

I would never have thought the above things you pointed out in your own chart..when I think about how you have helped me to understand my own and reading some of what you have read for others.

Blessings in the new year to you and your family!

Also, I checked old transits and when transiting Jupiter was in Aquarius (late 2009), last decanate and trined my natal mercury in libra conjunct my ninth house cusp, I got the house I have and moved in. Transiting Saturn was in libra, squaring my moon at the time--the home was a fixer upper and the job I had was super busy.

Thanks again,

Hi Graham!

Curious question. Based upon the planets you showed for your chart, what day in November is your birthday?

Over the last seven years, I had been talking off and on with someone that was born on 11-20-48. He likes being sociable on one hand, but can be suspicious of others on the other hand. I think he has the moon squaring his neptune, which makes it hard for him to see others' true motives at times even with his mercury square pluto. He is also very intelligent and family oriented as well. Hygiene is very important to him.

Yes. I am also 20th November 1948, and my (3rd house) Sun at 27Scorpio41 is wounded by (3rd house) Chiron at 29Scorpio29. Moreover, my Moon (at 8Cancer30) makes a 95degs48mins square with Neptune (at 14Libra18) and a 57degs03 sextile with Saturn.

From birth, that (karmic) Chiron wound has manifested as a general fear of trusting anyone - and a specific fear of others distorting my words/comments, then using them as weapons to attack me.

That fear was created in a past life in the Western Hemisphere ... as a wealthy and well-educated man who (having being jilted at the altar) entered a monastery - and eventually became a monk, after enduring many years of being punished whenever his "brothers" felt that his words/comments revealed a lack of humility.

Hi Graham!

Interesting. Sounds like your social situations are also affected by all of that fear and past life residue. The humility and how you view those in your social circle may be related. What you say being used against you--and the social factor and trust again.

I found something that may help you with your fear of people using your words against you. When I took my dog to a park over the last month or so, I had someone there tell me they hadn't seen me in a very long time (even though at the time I didn't remember having a conversation with them before) and he wondered what I had been up to. I didn't offer much info, but to say that I had been very busy. The conversation moved to the subject of my dog. I then talked highly and praised the work of a woman (didn't remember her name) that had helped 100's of stray dogs lose weight and then she returned them to the shelter for adoption. Once I started talking about the positives in this person, the man then backed away from the conversation and started to talk with the man he was with. I had also conversed with another person who was interested when I needed to vent or was having a bad day and once I started having more positive things to speak of with them, the conversations were short or didn't happen. Try in your social situations to praise someone you know and if there isn't anything there to speak highly about, do some research online for news reports as now more than ever the media is trying to bring up the good that people are doing to lift people's spirits. The 3rd house, Gemini, is also possibly gossips and like you said the monk (brothers) symbolic of siblings or biological brothers. Arm yourself with this good info and talk about it in conversations. Virgo rising, as you know, can be critical and exacting and people often have difficulty with this, even if it is constructive. As much as you have helped people here, maybe think of it in that vein, even though the conversation isn't about astrology. I noticed that the gossips (and there was a group of them) watched me as I was leaving that park. Maybe they were surprised that I left them with nothing good (bad/negative) to talk about.

John Bolton, our outgoing President's former security adviser, also shares your birthday. He has been referred to as a hardliner by some of his critics.

The guy I know can be conservative in some ways like John Bolton, and family is also important to both of them. He is a provider type as well. Guys who work and provide for their spouse.

Hope this helps you in some way. Have a great day!

Thanks for this, which pinpoints my issue and expresses it clearly/precisely :-

Currently, my focus is (and always has been) upon highlighting the astrological/psychological issues which (in my opinion) a chart owner would benefit from addressing. However, those comments need to be balanced by also pointing out the chart owner's strengths. ... Otherwise, it comes across as a holier-than-thou statement of "I am ok : You are not ok".

It may also be how sensitive the person is to what you see in their chart. I started learning about astrology to better understand myself--why I seemed to experience some of the things I had, which I've learned over the years relates back to past lives. It also gave me an idea on what improvements I needed to make in how I interacted with or how I came across to others. My natal Sun square Jupiter didn't help me back then, though, as I couldn't understand why others didn't recognize what I felt I had as strengths. The positive of that natal aspect gave me an abundance of energy, but on the flip side it also made me overdo things at times. Over the years, though, I came to realize what I could and couldn't do and grew into what I could do (if that makes sense). All part of the humility thing.

The other person I know that has the same birthday as you was very concerned about the choices his friends made in their lives, for instance. He didn't agree with one friend grasping for the gold ring (lots of money) because he knew their health would suffer for it. He also said the friend was having health problems already. I think for him that is the trine between his Jup in Cap and Saturn in Virgo and living a balanced life and not letting greed control them to their detriment. The balance you are teaching to others is about career/home-family balance.

On John Bolden, I can see facial similarities between him and the guy I know with the same birthday.

I knew someone once who was born on 11/7/42. Half his chart is in Scorpio. Johnny Rivers (singer/songwriter in U.S.) also shared that birthday. I can see similarities in their facial features as well. So uncanny.

Your strengths..if you are similar to the other two that share your birthday, then your literal strength and unwavering approach to life makes others feel protected. You care about others as well! As Grant Lewi wrote, you have an intuitive understanding of people. The guy I know has loads of that, but it's the intent or motives that people sometimes have that he finds it hard to discriminate between good or bad--think his moon is in later degrees of Cancer and squares his natal Venus.

Hi Graham

I'm gonna have my Jupiter return next year. What do you think it will bring? An astrologer said this will bring me marriage and possibly a child, but he's approaching it from a Vedic PoV while analysing my Mahadasha at the same time.

I wonder what Western astrology says of this transit.

Jupiter rules my 7H and it's in Aries 11H trine 7H Sag Moon/Neptune, square 2H Cancer Saturn, opposite 5H Libra Pluto, sextile Gemini ASC.

I can post a chart if it's easier. Thanks a bunch.

I have your natal chart in my computer files, but it will be helpful if you can post the Jupiter Return Chart. [To confirm/synchronise the timing - as I have your Jupiter returning at 14:29pm on 19th Feb 2023, but astro.com has 23:17pm (birthplace local time).]

Astro-seek shows it as 23:17pm so I’m gonna go with that. Here’s the chart showing the return chart over natal. I made a mistake. It should be 2023, not next year.

Vedic astrology is focused upon predicting events, whilst Western astrology is focused upon understanding the impact of those events upon the chart owner.

However, both agree "nothing can happen that is not 'promised' in the natal chart". ... Hence, it it significant here that the marriage + possibility-of-a-child vedic prediction is supported by what is promised (by Jupiter) in the natal/tropical chart of western astrology.

Thus ... in your posted image, natal Jupiter is involved in two separate aspect patterns ... a Jupiter-Pluto-Sun stimulation triangle, and a Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune learning triangle ... with (the slower-moving-planets in) both 'promising' to change (the faster-moving) Jupiter ( ie. your-outlook-upon-life). ... And what could achieve that better than marrying and/or having a child?

Thanks, Graham! I didn’t see my triangles this way before so that was enlightening. 🙂

Hi Graham,

I came across something that may interest you, but not sure if I should post it here. I started thinking about what you said about worrying about people using what they know about you against you. The good news is, if you choose to go there, it may help you a lot. What I read says it will only work if you can trust them in helping you.

How familiar are you with psychology and personalities?

If you would like to read what I found, ask Randall for my email address and I'll send you a link or I'll just identify it and you can do the research... many people don't recognize it like you do.
