I’ve never been a math person, but statistics is somewhat easier for me than other math like physics. Does my chart show it? I’m currently taking a qualitative research communication course and my professor says she is looking for three students who’d be paid (by my college) statistics researchers. Should I apply? Does my chart show math ability? http://imgur.com/a/WHePAU6

How Excellent!!!
You'll get PAID "experience".
That's Valuable!! Looks good on your resume.
May 'open' future doors for you!
They'll remember you for stepping-forward to offer.

If future project opportunities come up, you'll be known.

* First, I'd inquire of the professor what 'exactly' the statistics-researchers want you to do.

Will you be making observations
Doing interviews
Passing out questionnaires?
. .
That's the "collection of data"

After that comes inputting the data,
and crunching the numbers
doing the graphs and charts.
. .
How much of 'that' would YOU be doing?
Or, are the Statistics-Researchers handling that part of the project?
Will you be organizing, then inputting data for them?

You're in the under-grad level of this course, correct?

Here's a description of what this course offers you, at the graduate level. Read the various 'types' of research done.

Story --
When I was a college undergrad, I took some Women's Studies courses. We were supposed to design our own research project, create a questionnaire, and go around campus interviewing students. We'd have to interrupt what they were doing, and compel them to cooperate in our project. It was interesting for them because they had an opportunity to 'express their opinions' on male-female issues.
As they spoke, I'd mark their answers on my simple questionnaire.

Had some surprising answers that were discussed in the class afterwards.

Didn't have to do official graphs and charts of the data, but that would have been simple-enough to do.

I had a blast doing it--

We have COVID going on right now--
So, will this involve people-contact?
Do you like doing interviews?
Maybe that's all they'll require?

Find out for sure.
Go for it! .. Your prof will make choices based on what they know about you already.

Astrology ----------
Doing Research would be 8th House.
You have 8th House Aquarius
Transiting Mercury {communications} is there now, to go retro for 3 weeks. That's good.. stays in your 8th.
Mercury in the 8th is know as 'the detective'. Great for research.
Did you know that it was found significant that many science-types have Mercury as retrograde in their natals?

Sun and JUPITER right now, IN your 8th?
Money opportunity?? for doing research?

NATAL.. you have Virgo on the 3rd {communication house, analysis, interviewing in the vicinity-- the JUPITER there. Luck.}

You could be 'overthinking' this. Nervous?
The Prof wouldn't ask if they thought a student couldn't do the job 'on the knowledge they already have'.

Your Major is IN Communications right?
You want to do this for your career?

Carpe Diem !!!
Excited for you

Thank you for the thorough answer . I am a communications major and this course is not so math focused, but the internship would focus on the math part and would involve me emailing people for whatever research they need. I don’t know what will happen if nobody emails back though, but I assume people will. I took a gender in communication class last semester and loved it!!! I love learning how we communicate about gender

With communicating about the genders, in the study I did, students seemed eager to participate. That was in the 1970s. Hot issue in the Women's Rights Movement.

You'll be in an internship. Cool.

When you send out questionnaires to be 'returned', you realize that statistically, there will be a percentage of folks that neglect to respond in good time or not-at-all?

Maybe there will be a way to re-send at some point if they haven't responded?

Anyway. I'm so excited for you.
