Hello all. I haven't posted on Lindaland in quite some time and a lot has changed since then. Through the years, I've always come back here because I find the most interesting and insightful points of view in this community. It's such a joy to be a member of such a wonderful group of folks and I wish nothing more than happiness and prosperity for every member of Lindaland.

My birthday has come around again (they just keep coming) and, though I typically take my SR chart with a grain of salt, I can't help but take a look at it just before my birthday each year. This time, I've encountered a bit of a tricky situation.

My father is approaching 80 and isn't well so I've been planning a trip to visit my parents as soon as work will allow. Coincidentally, the timing of this trip will fall right around my birthday. For a bit more context, I'm currently trying to negotiate terms to start a new job with the government. They made an offer last Tuesday (5 days ago) and I asked for more money. I'm supposed to hear back this week (we'll see). Even if I get it, it'll still take several months to get the necessary clearance before I could even start.

Hence my dilemma. If I spend my birthday at my home, my SR Ascendant will be in the 1st house. If I'm visiting my parents over my birthday then it'll fall in the 12th house. I've read good and bad interpretations for the 1st house placement and, for the 12th house placement, I've mostly read gloom and doom, cancel Christmas sort of stuff. I'm not sure whether I should adjust the timing of my trip by a day or two in an effort to mitigate a potentially unfavorable return chart. I'm also trying to keep a close eye on my MC out of concern for this new job. The pay will likely be less but the benefits could be lifelong and more than compensate for the lower pay. I just have my finger in so many pies that I'm starting to feel a little like that scribble thought bubble that Charlie Brown used to get. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that someone out there will be generous enough to offer their advice and/or experience with these or similar placements/scenarios.

Thank you all for your time and I hope you're all doing well.
