I'm so sorry you lost your dad. I wish you comfort and peace in your grief. The way you've charted these transits is the right way to do it, around your birth chart. That way we can see how they are moving through the houses of your birth chart, because those are the houses that matter.
A solar return chart does not as a stand-alone chart define a difficult year. It is the transits of the slower moving planets to important natal points that reveal that.
If you look up into that 12th house area where your Sun is, you can see that Pluto has moved out of its prior conjunction to your Sun. However, it recently moved back into declination position 22S30, making a parallel to your natal Sun 21S43. That parallel aspect is very much like a conjunction. So in effect, it extends Pluto's transit, just not visibly in the zodiac position.
Pluto's also making a parallel aspect to your natal Neptune, which addresses one's ideals, challenging one to deepen them. But the learning often happens through/because of some kind of disappointment.
So Pluto transiting by parallel the natal Sun parallel Neptune aspect in your birth chart. It is a time of transformation of identity and ideals.
Neptune is also in transit squaring your natal Moon opposition to Neptune. Moon down there in the 4th, the house of home/family and the primary house of endings. That sets up a challenge with personal, inner emotions, uncertainty, unexpected developments that can complicate one's internal mental-emotional stability (Moon opp. Uranus).
These are the kinds of transits that involve a process of experiences and growth much longer than one year. So the solar return as a single frozen moment in time does not really capture them properly.
If your Asc figure is pretty well accurate in mid-Aquarius, then Uranus has been in transit square to it for a while (1 year+).
So those are challenging transits when added all together.
My best approach to addressing the stress of these kinds of experiences is directly at the energy level by the use of gems/crystals appropriate to getting back in balance. Sodalite can be very calming and settling to those having difficulty with Neptune (confusing, uncertainty, worry, etc). Sodalite could also possibly be useful during stressful Saturn transits for some people (as can Amethyst).
Blue/blue-green Jade is another Neptune stone that can achieve similar results. Moonstone or Pearl can stabilize one's Lunar/emotional state to regain clarity of feelings. Those are just some examples.
My wife recently started wearing the Sodalite necklace again that I bought her a while back. It calmed her down noticeably within minutes and she felt so much better she was able to get improved sleep.
Sometimes we go through a mixture of transits that don't seem to allow clear solutions in terms of what to do outwardly or which direction to go. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves time to grieve, or process things subconsciously and regain clarity about who we are and what we want or need. I hope you have your own process that gives you comfort and healing.
