Can you tell me a little about what the content of the message was? It could just be a bot or a virus or both. I don't feel like it is anything to worry about. The latest thing is to message people on their computer where it shows up as a "notification." You can click on the time to turn off notifications. All of this is speculative without more information, but my feeling is that it is innocuous.
