This is the study (and hunt for) strange new species. Or at least that's what I define it as in my layman's terms. Locally, a college professor found an extict species of reptile/fish (close relative of the dinosaurs) in our Chattahoochee river right here in Columbus! That was pretty amazing! What do you guys think of other creatures, like the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot?

Why not.

We have was has been called a living fossil the Tuatara, it looks like a lizard but it still has remnants of a third eye that is light sensitive. The scientists are baffled about this and don't know what it's use was. The relatives died out millions of years ago, some say as long as 60 million yrs.

The Earth is a large place and around 2% is occupied by Human inhabitation, and many sightings of unusual creatures come from people that don't have cameras with them so they easily get debunked.

That's very interesting.
Have you got any more info that you can share?

I'm still amazed about the skeleton found of a crocodile/alligator body with tiny arms and a human skull!

Yeah Randall when did this happen?

I'm believe in conspiracies but even that's a bit hard to swallow, I'll keep an open mind, stranger things have happened.

Cat about the Tuatara
Been looking at a website, my dates for origins are wrong, it is now 200 million.

Grows to a length of 24cm weighs 500gm
as an Adult.
Has an inbuilt thermostat which it can regulate and can survive in cold climates.
Lays eggs in Petral burrows and then leaves them, these take between 12-15 mths to hatch.
Are nocturnal and feed on worms, wetas and other insects.
Live in burrows and sometimes share their homes with Petrals.
Have a soft scaly skin.
Their skeleton has irregularities that differ it from other reptiles.

Hey Mambo

Actually, I'd never heard of Tuatara - we don't get them here in London .....
but I found a couple of links that you may find interesting.

Nope, not the Chattahoochee. I think it's probably be a hoax, but it's fooling everyone for now.
