Hi Guys
Thought I'd throw this one out for discussion.
A lot of astrologers think that Chiron rules Virgo, some say other signs eg: Sagittarius.

What do you think?

I still think it's Vulcan. Mr. Spock was definitely very Virgoish.

Cat,

Watch out with Chiron. It is currently being classified by NASA as a comet. It may very well be out of our solar system before someone makes up their mind as to what it rules. Then what would happen to the poor sign that lost its ruler?

I also wonder if it was even in our solar system before it was "discovered." Everyone has been putting it in their charts, but maybe it entered after they were born.

The jury is still out on what Chiron actually is. There are so many asteroids, space debris and satellites, it turns my head. I actually know someone who says she can read a natal chart with nothing but asteroids. She doesn't need any planets

Hey Ria
Thanks for the info.
I actually sort of have a "thing" for Chiron.
I really do feel there's more to it than we know.

Very interesting about the woman you mention who concentrates on asteroids. I personally would never dismiss their importance. What's your feeling on them?

Sue,

I don't use asteroids at all. I find I have enough information using the planets and the Arabic Parts. To be honest, I only use Ptolemaic aspects as well. There is a wealth of information in the chart and I can usually find the information I need to find this way.

Now, as for my opinion, I have recently read an interesting theory about asteroids (not proven as scientific as of yet but there is some scientific evidence for it). It states that the asteroids are part of the planet that Lucifer lived on. God destroyed the planet when Lucifer and God had their tiff.

I am not a believer in "Hell," and I don't want to start another rant on that subject , but I understand that persistent stories or myths have a meaning.

I am not going to speculate on what the use of asteroids in astrology means right now but when I read this idea, I had an immediate sense of Linda Goodman's unpublished manuscript, which I think was going to be called Twelfth Night. I have some ideas here and I'll try to formulate them and write some more.

Sue, I find that no matter what system we use, we can get results. If someone uses the what seems like millions of asteroids and can actually help someone, more power to them. If someone can use only the 7 planets of traditional astrology and help someone, well........you know what I mean

In Peace,
Ria
