I have it in my collection because I did the artwork for the cover but I haven't actually READ it...lazy me! But I was wondering if anyone else has read it and what they thought of it? I'm looking for a good book to recommend to people that are new to the Craft. I'll probably read it this weekend but I'd really like to know what other people think. There's a whole series of them out... Idiot's Guide to Tarot, idiot's guide to Meditation, etc. I know the title turns a lot of people off to it for obvious reasons, though.I won't read any of the computer books for dummies! IP: Logged |

I read the one on astrology . . Uhm. Ick. Far better I found was The Everything You Need To Know About Astrology guide, I think they have one for Wicca and Witchcraft as well. I've browsed some of the other idiot guides on esoteric subjects and generally been disappointed. They strike me as dismissive of their subject matter, fluffy, and I dunno, the fact that three chapters in the astrology one was filler about other topics (Instead of something helpful about astrology) was very disapointing to me. To live my libra they are simple and pretty accessible which is important in a beginners book. I just feel like there are more respectful treatments out there. I'd check Chapters. IP: Logged |
