A lot of stuff about ETs and past civilizations is taken from mythologies,but I wonder,how is mythology important otherwise?
One thing that really interests me is how much J.R.R. Tolkien's work resembles a mythology-he even has Atlantis in there,in the form of Numenor.Tolkien's work is like a mythology for the modern world.
Personally I like reading myths just for the fun;they can be very entertaining,and they educate you about the civilization that created them at the same time.
I had to write my own myth for school once.It was a nice chance to lyricise all my beliefs about the universe

The sad thing about Mythology is that over so many thousands of years they became too distorted to understand the real meaning behind them.

-If only Linda Goodman could have had time to publish "12th night secrets" then we'd probably be able to discover the true meanings of mythology.

raj,that's a great idea!I think that'd be a good way to bring out one's beliefs about the universe.Which can be very hard to orginixe, at times.

Mythology was always a favorite of mine, what a great idea you have!!

I once copied these two sentences from a book, but I never wrote down the author, now I wish I would have!!
