Hi Guys
Geeez today is a crazy day all over England. I went to get the Sunday papers this morning and hardly had to take a step...the wind practically blew me there So I'm not leaving the house today. It's really bad.

What's happening to our climate? And I don't just mean here in England.

Here's today's news so far

SIX DEAD AS GALES BATTER UK

FOUR adults and two children have been killed and several others seriously injured as gales sweep across England and Wales.

Sustained wind speeds of between 40mph and 60mph are causing chaos on the roads, rail, in the air and at sea.

Fallen trees and power lines made travel treacherous across much of the country.

The highest recorded wind speed was a gust of 96.6mph at Mumbles, in south Wales, at about 7am while elsewhere, gusts of between 60mph and 70mph are causing damage to trees and roof tiles.

Lucy Verasamy, of PA WeatherCentre, said: "We haven't had the worst of the winds yet. Between now and midday into the early afternoon, they are going to increase across the Midlands, South East, South West and Wales.

"It's still really windy in northern England and all of the east coast but southern areas are bearing the brunt of it."

The adverse weather has been caused by a low pressure front moving in from the Atlantic.

Severe weather warnings have been issued for south east and south central England, Wales, East Anglia and the Midlands with police, fire and coastguard services warning people not to venture out unless absolutely necessary.

British Airways was forced to cancel 32 flights from Heathrow and seven from Gatwick while both GNER and Virgin Trains cancelled all trains on the East Coast and West Coast mainlines because of overhead line damage.

The situation was being assessed but other operators using the same routes were also affected.

We're all advised to stay indoors

How are thing's in America and everywhere else in the world?

Its a chilly 70 deg. here in Phoenix, Az. That may not be that cold compared to other places, but after the summer we've had, its going to take a while for my blood to thicken up. In the mean time, Im FREEZING!
It rained about half the day here yesterday, which flooded some if the streets because Phoenix isnt equipt with drain systems because it doesnt rain here very much. The sun bakes the earth so badly that water doesnt absorb thru it. During our summer Monsoons, where you see the most beautiful electric lightning, our parks get flooded, and in the little valleys of grass in the parks, warm rain makes pools to swim in. I think it might rain again today.

Stay safe Cat! I don't know what is going on with the whether, but it makes me feel like "there's a natural mystic flowing thru the air" by Bob Marley should be playing

Here in NY it's been chilly, gray and unseasonably cold (50's). It finally rained over the weekend -- but it's been trying to squeeze out that rain for three weeks now. It's actually kind of a relief after the hot, humid, rainless summer we've had.

Hi Guys
Thanks for your concern. It's still a bit "breezy" but not as "mad" as yesterday.
Sue
